Network Vision/LTE - Las Vegas Market

Spent first two weeks in Oceanside (zips 92057 & 92056); Sprint LTE AND 3G were

absent totally; was on roaming 3G most of the time; so some parts of SoCal not so much;

East SD county rocks well with LTE but North SD county not nearly as good as MOST of

the LV Valley and LV is not even a launched market!!

 

SD county is a work in progress but as soon you get into North OC and LA, you are in heaven

Not sure why it has slowed down, but we are only getting a few sites updated monthly.  Vendor man power issues?

Vegas is not a launched market. Customer service wouldn't know that there is active LTE service there. And it'll continue to be that way until they officially launch it. Calling CS won't help.

I know Vegas is no officially launched but they can still see at tech-support what is going on. Level 2 support seems to be able to address the issues unless you get one of these foreign callcenters.

 

I hope the FCC forces Sprint to bring all foreign CSR poitions back home when they merge with T-Mo

No they can't. Sprint supports LTE launched markets differently from a CS perspective than markets that haven't been launched as you've been told.

I don't know what this has to do with anything. Any merger is all unconfirmed rumors at this point.

I wish they would bring these jobs home because people here need to work and if you have dealt with an Indian or Fillipino call center you know the pain. They repeat everything four times and get nothing done. I needed to switch out a defective handset and the foreign call center was unable to get it done and wasted 50 minutes. CSR in the states did the same job in two minutes and made me very happy.

They are installing band 41 panels on the Spencer st tower right now. Can't get pics I was in a hurry. They only had one panel up five minutes ago...

I think Las Vegas will be one of the first true Sprint NV2.0 markets because there is no Clearwire conversion done at all like in my home market

In an unlaunched Sprint market such as Las Vegas, representatives do not have access to or knowledge of LTE site information. Once a market is officially launched by Sprint, everything changes.

What is the service like on the strip these days? I'm going to be visiting for a conference in august. Wondering if I should renew my T-Mobile service or switch back to sprint. I probably won't be spending much time outside of the strip while I'm there.

I am out in Vegas staying at the Pakms Place right now. Sprint is working terrible. I am constantly bouncing back and forth from no signal to full signal. Was on the Strip last night and nothing would load on 3G or LTE. I just recently switched back to Sprint from AT&T and am already regretting it for when I travel. I am serviced by Shentel at home in York, PA and have no issues there.

This is kinda ranty, be a little careful. That said, I can understand how you're spoiled with Shentel because they're an exemplary affiliate for Sprint. They do an amazing job.

 

No official LTE launched for Vegas means that Sprint won't offer technical support.

The strip is one of the last areas in Vegas to be upgraded so problems are to be expected in that area.

Thank god for my Verizon hotspot and wifi calling otherwise I'd be out of a phone during my trip...I come out here atleast 6 times a year and am not sure if I will keep Sprint or not due to this...just signed up a little over a week ago...might switch back to my Xperia Z2 on AT&T.

Work is still on going in Vegas. Please give Sprint a chance as they are working hard to get things done. Vegas service has improved dramatically in the last two years, and if you have a triband phone, you probably will do better if you turn off LTE while you are at your hotel and the Strip if you keep losing signal.

I visited the Vegas strip 2 weeks ago and can attest to the variable service from Sprint.    I am not going to rant on that the service was terrible but they do still have some work that needs to be done there.    Most of the service problems I encountered were when I was outside on Las Vegas Blvd.    Most major hotel/casinos have some sort of DAS inside so signal was better when inside.   The strip with its tall buildings is definitely a challenging RF environment.     I should also mention that my friends AT&T Iphone 5s fared even worse, usually no data download speed at all and numerous dropped calls.

Baffled by the biggest problem areas being the last to get done. Same here, in Pittsburgh; downtown was untouched until mere days ago.

 

As it is, so sad to read this. Flying to Vegas on Tuesday... Was hoping for my phone to not be a burning hot paperweight with rapidly draining battery as it has been for years when I vacation there...

I was at the Planet, Sprint had beat out all the competition.  All my friends on Verizon AT&T and T-Mobile was not usable.  They were holding their phones next to the window trying to use their data.  LOL.  Heck my Sprint hot spot was working at 3G speeds which was much better that not usable...

 

Spark will make Sprint the #1 carrier in speeds soon.
