Been roaming the strip with my stock N5 running 4.4.2 still and I am far from impressed. Not sure if its from not being updated (4.4.3 hasn't been pushed and I don't have a PC to sideload), volume, or NV hardware but my battery has been going straight down trying to find 3g. I did manage to hold a 40 minute call starting at Sahara/Decatur and going north of downtown, over to 95, and back down to boulder so I guess there's that. Hoping I'm one of the lucky recipients of 4.4.3 tomorrow!

The Strip is far from complete. However, most areas of Vegas I visit are further along, and service is very stable for me when I'm in town. Data is slow on many 3G only sites right now, but over time that will improve.

Wouldn't mind B41 for when I'm deep in the canal shoppes or miracle mile but one can hope I'm one of the lucky ones in the next 4 days. That or Rio doesn't me mind installing the android SDK on the desktop computers they have in the diamond lounge

Yeah, I don't think the Rio will allow that, lol. Boulder Highway has excellent 3G coverage for the 95 south to about Russell. Even had decent WiMax. As for Band 41, I don't expect much down The Strip for a long while. :(

Where at? I was at the PH pool and was marveling at how none of the buildings in that part of the strip had any panels at all (to the naked eye at least).

The Stip is tricky because some sites are nicly hidden but the one I found was in the Gettho part of the strip (North End) I will send MacInJosh the pictures for posting

There is an LTE site directly next to the property and yes you get LTE. Coverage as improved from my last trip to Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. IDK how people can exist in Vegas but I am happy to be back in SoCal.

Here is another Band 41 installation courtesy of orangeblue.

 

 

 

 

This tower is a Sprint / Clearwire Co-Lo.

This is not a Clearwire LTE convertion and Sprint mounted their own B41 equipment.

 

Yes this site is a colocated site. However, the old Clearwire equipment is on a separate rack, but the new 8T8R panels and RRUs have been installed on the same rack as the NV 1.0 panels and RRUs.

That seems to be the standard of B41 installations when Sprint is doing the job. I called Sprint today and asked about some of the towers that I have seen and most of them are scheduled for B41 launch at the end of this month.

The two I have seen have been the same way. The funny think is the location of the RRU behind and above the panel for the NV 2.0 equipment. It has been identical in every installation (on actual tower sites) I have seen. Unlike the RRUs for the NV 1.0 equipment, where each crew seemed to have a different signature for mounting them.

I think it is nice because it makes it so much easier to spot a NV2.0 tower. Red cone and RUU's behind the panels = B41 site.

      I think the push for them is adding US Mobile as a MVNO with a priority data plan.  Ultimately, making people more aware of priority would allow them (and other carriers) to differentiate themselves from MVNOs like Consumer Cellular that advertise the same coverage. n77 has dramatically reduced the need for priority service at Verizon where the mere functioning of your phone was in jeopardy a couple of years ago if you had a low priority plan like Red Pocket. Only have heard of problems with T-Mobile in parts of Los Angeles. AT&T fell in between. All had issues at large concerts and festivals, or sporting events if your carrier has no on-site rights. Edit: Dishes native 5g network has different issues: not enough sites, limited bandwidth. Higher priority would help a few. Truth is they can push phones to AT&T or T-Mobile.

      Tracfone AT&T sims went from QCI 8 to 9 as well a couple years ago. I'm pretty neutral towards AT&T's turbo feature here, the only bad taste left was for those who had unadvertised QCI 7 a couple months ago moved down to 8. In my eyes it would have been a lot better for AT&T to include turbo in those Premium/Elite plans for free to keep them at QCI 7, while also introducing this turbo add on option for any other plans or devices. As it stands now only a handful of plans can add it, and only if you're using a device on a random list of devices AT&T considers to be 5G smartphones.

      My Red Pocket AT&T GSMA account was dropped to QCI 9 about a year ago.  Most recently 8 for the last few years prior.  Voice remains at 5.

Based on how I was treated with my Credit Limit, it's definitely not the same company it was before the merger, and it's entirely possible they'd try it.
