  1. I would like to see the FCC certification #'s for this guy. Such as the test results for the antenna strength. The OET search page looks to require some FCCID digits Info I do not have since I am not in possession of one of these. Could one of you that has this be kind enough to provide the numbers or try the search so we have something? Would probably go nicely in the first post as well. Thanks and have a great night everyone. http://transition.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/ Maybe Josh has something on this but I was unable to find anything, sorry if I missed it.
  2. Have you been to Flint bro? There is about 120 people left there, and they aren't speed testing that is for sure. Well, phones anyway.
  3. I am assuming that is exactly what they will do. It has been kind of a pattern. Once one of these guys pushes out something industryesque the rest hop on in a day or two and call it an "industry standard" i.e. deprioritization, throttling, Unlimited price hikes, leasing, contract shedding, selling tower assets, your usage is burning the network down so you should feel bad messages as they increase data buckets. You name it, they've made a business out of it.
  4. Wow that is great news, new Sprint and Tmo sites. In differing locations at that! Great work finding these locations and thank you for the heads up on expansion. We are waiting for it as well along the route to the beach here. Looks like ground is finally being broken on what many would say is an expansion at least half a decade overdue. It has been awfully slow here for any upgrades, and from the maps your area of our market is even less dense, which I didn't think possible. Of course I have to ask, if you have any pics or logs I'm dying to get the west end of our market filled in for our première map and my ever changing spreadsheet idea. If not no worries. Please do keep us updated on progress otherwise, I have all the sites I haven't made it to(west of Aynor) set up on my Google maps to visit but I have a lot working against a weekend of driving to towers two towns over. This made my week, sorry for the book length response, I am just super excited to hear this news.
  5. If VoLTE is a need, I suggest using Hangouts for Android. I pose a guess facetime or Apple calling equivalent for iPhone. Like a few I don't make a lot of calls. Hangouts works well for my family to communicate. When we upgrade devices and the network is improved by our home it should be flawless, but it also works on my dual band router pretty slick so no worries at home. On the opposite side /general consumer I see it being nice as a simple included dialer feature, and not denting a data bucket of course. If VoLTE is good make the call or fall back if needed. Same old one push; don't mess with that last part of telephony on devices. I would be disappointed of course since the network is as suggested not ready in many places. Several doods up top here have explained what would happen in call craptasticity rates. When I travel rural South Carolina, and sometimes not so, I am CDMA roaming so I know I have to keep that antenna on should I travel. It is just a fact that it isn't going to be an option for a while. Barring a breakthrough in reverse enginerring that none of the many smart folks here have heard of yet. Except maybe something Arsyn can come up with in a new thread. Gotta admit guy has some cool ideas. I am confident his write up will be done by tomorrow.
  6. I was just out scoping Nextel sites to see if they still had gear up for pics. Funny to see this; mentioning I was hunting relics of the past.
  7. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2015/10/prweb13006531.htm Quote: "Beginning immediately, Kajeet will partner with school districts to trade-in unusable WiMAX devices obtained from other companies in exchange for Kajeet SmartSpot devices. Districts will need to confirm their service is on the WiMAX network with another company, and Kajeet will provide a new free SmartSpot for each received device, as well as low-price LTE service on the nation’s largest wireless network."
  8. I am not alone I see; occuring chronically for the last year with no discernable pattern.
  9. Many Stingrays have now received the Hailstorm update. Allowing them to port into the IP standard of traffic. They are then fronthauled to the tower itself through the LTE connection now. No more messy separate connection.
  10. I haven't had an HD call in months. I drive a Nexus 5, no WiFi calling, to several other S phones. S4, S5, and an N6. Hangouts is still crisp. I do not often use 1x voice but it does not seem to be working as it is supposed to when I do.
  11. Have we even selected a waveform for the next standard yet? Am I the only one asking this? This seems . . . to beat the punch. Sooooo I'm guessing this should fall under marketing.
  12. Best bet is to get pics. The best camera is the one you have on you at the time I have seen tuning and the addition of COW's but no GMO conversions or 2.5 work yet.
  13. Srsly tho, when Bar B Que is brought up in my area they say "It is different here in South Carolina than it is in say, Yankee Carolina(Yikes!)" I am about 20 min from the state line. You will encounter multiple Cletii along the way serving pulled pork, but once you cross it the taste is nebulous to what the last fella was serving. Most likely at a readily available pork-n-boiled peanuts production shanty.
  14. Like you said, if you're wife has att, wait til they finish and see if you can connect on her handset if your Sprint phone won't
  15. I'm guessing that is a really tall site. So according to the links its an htc tower, I assume they are the ones up there if it sits alone. I see many along 22 off north that are a dood deuce at least in height. There is a surprisingly decent amount of towers in our rural areas. Just that they need to be fortified/utilized. Looks like we are starting to see it right here. Great job finding a new build! Man, imagine the difference in coverage, capacity even with just a regular dual band set up. Or even one of the lower cost 4 carrier triband antennas. That would be sweet.
  16. Upon activation of the update, all settings were set to off, including location in the android menu. Not sure what other android settings it reset but I'm having tons of fun figuring it out. Especially while taking advantage of my one chance to map the PR market for premièr level users. /s
  17. http://imgur.com/wiggwQ2 Holy crapidad! I have never seen such high upload on Band 25. @conquistador/Fajardo. Got lots of pics. 3 sectors, each one has two other antenna next NV gear. Not sure if sharing limited space w other carriers or just waiting for legacy removal. If one was so inclined they might even be able to sneak away from there partner and grab some pics up close on the roof, but I think I'll just lean hard on the zoom factor on the cam.
  18. What JimBob said, I get it in the elevator inside the brick building at my college, and that's just my phone. I use my mobile broadband device much more at the school since our WiFi is garbage.(tech school, go figure) and since it offers a much better bits/Hertz and wireless security is paramount to me. As Robert said, chiggity check yo device before you wriggety wreck your network slice.
  19. Simple, disable band 41 in your data/EPST settings until coverage is to your liking.
  20. Don't these places have enterprise WiFi? I mean come on, a macro can do so much.
  21. Also, holy crap burger king is everywhere here, in Myrtle we have 2 and they are to be avoided like a case of aidscancer. I did see one w a microwave dish attached, top lel.
  22. Huehuehue disappeared from the MYR to come visit your beautiful market. Running logs like a beast if any of the contributors here get it together enough to start a map/tracking section in sponsor or premièr. I am here for a few more days if anyone would like to take advantage of my experience and collaborate a little . . . I've built the buhjeebus out of my area map and the boss said I had some relief work to do so here we are. I will be glad to contribute and get some pics. Other wise they will just go on my premièr map. I have to say even with the lush landscape you guys have a highly visible and accessible wireless infrastructure. I doubt I will be setting up a day to drive around and just grab pics but I will get what I can. Have a great day everyone.
