  1. Yeah that is in the 5-12 they are shooting for. I am excited for 26 and 41 now that the first layer is finally complete. 26 is here and there so far.
  2. Good deal, how is the day to day stuff? Are you able to watch youtube or stream music better now? In our area, the towers are sparse, spacing is weird to say the least. 1900 MHz is fast enough still, 800MHz is much better in the few sites that have it here. Sprint seems to be powering up the radios now to standard levels. I am getting much better speeds on it than before, and some places 1900 has definitely been tuned to perform better.
  3. Whew, had to dig to find this thread, any new folks still floating around? We need help getting the other markets outside or around Myrtle for our map, or someone could make one of thier own Florence, NC on up, to boonies between. Like Robert said up top there, if someone needs a gift I'm always down to chip in and get you sponsored. It has been an exciting time since I first decided to get into checking out the 4g rollout and have been fascinated with the multitude of information about communication technology. This board is a great learning tool.
  4. You have 5 imgur accounts, two cameras, 3 LTE tracking apps, a day off on the weekend where 5 hours are scheduled for tower spotting(formerly "Date Night"), made the jump from just work full time to engineering school as well, break your Nexus 5 and then fix it loading different radios, insist on being the passenger so you can operate/monitor your phone airlink. Meeting complete strangers at thier job at a site in the middle of nowhere that neither of you knew the other would be at, getting great pics, and meeting cool people and getting some cool knowledge that you can't ever get enough of. Oh yeah, like everyone else endorsed, homepage, homepage, homepage. PROTIP;Doing this at the info PC at the Myrtle Beach visitors center is fun.
  5. My old hometown Man the signal has been rough there for a while in Howell. I noticed improvement when visiting early last year on the 3g end. I was able to stream music on several back roads north of town that are not usually covered. How is LTE coverage and connectivity? I will be up again next month, just curious.
  6. Got-dang right it's all important. Although having the equivalent of greater New York pour through your county in 6 months makes for a few extra campers on capacity. I would say I will take the eleventy hundred MHz available in 2600 vs the lone 850 block and some AWS all week. Densification of course, is another matter here . . . I see little movement so far, but some interesting site placement options are popping up here, I have noticed in my travels.
  7. I have encountered Alltel and Verizon here in Myrtle, guess they are kind of one in the same nao though.
  8. The scan time on the nexus is pretty lax as far as my experience. Airplane mode is my friend. About my only gripe w the phone. It does have great reception as I am sure you know. My area has some sparse LTE on 1900 in areas, for example my s4 will drop before my Nexus, but will scan back for LTE quicker, where as the N5 holds on a bit longer and changes sites quite well staying on LTE. In the spots it drops, I have to force a scan. I really only notice when I am tracking scpro or hunting though, which is daily. So I tend to notice it more. Hope this sheds some light on it.
  9. I still have no LTE down in Myrtle. Nexus 5. This sucks.
  10. Yeah I imagine not. But, if one were to be interested in such, here is a cool place to start.
  11. Trololol yeah that might help. Its up too nao.
  12. Not sure if this has been posted, discussed, or whatnot. I came across this while trying to decipher what happened to LTE in my area(the system is dooooown) anyhoo looks like some neat info to be had here. https://www.sprint.net/maint_view.php The Compass network tool.
  13. I am in the Myrtle Beach market and had the same thing happen. LTE service is gone on my n5 as of last night to present. My s4 picked it up this morning bit no luck on the other phone. Just saw your comment and wanted to share my concurrence.
  14. Anyone having trouble connecting to LTE? I am on the .15 radio, when on engineering it will show a band 25 in the scan for a split second then the band '50' and goes right to 3g. In scp it shows LTE scan for a sec then right to 1x, then ehrpd. I have attempted the *#*# reset. Changed my band selections, turned em all on and off, updated prls and profile. LTE only. My s4 grabs LTE just fine. I just don't get it.
  15. mapped most of town's north end with some others, Band 25 is OK, solo channel so far. South of town is just getting filled in now with LTE. Music streams well, video is good near a site, texts are great via LTE. Coverage is nearing good to better. Capacity can be a stretch some days by Broadway, Coastal Grand, and the Hospital area on 82nd. GPS on the new base stations works great if you need directions to see and find activities. 1x800 is on a lot of towers in town if you have the correct prl. This was probably just added mostly in the last month or two. I have a N5 for a daily driver and I have made a few HD calls lately, which was nice and surprising. These were on 1x800. Seemed like more carriers were added in the fall for voice on 1900 as well. Before the season was here, I noticed decent voice usage in several different handsets then. Hope this helps. Depending on each area YMMV.
  16. I am referring to the one license in Myrtle that T owns. I am assuming it was 850 Cellular, just wanted to clarify they didn't have a lone lease on SMR in my area.
  17. Hey nao, We need all the 800 we can get here. We waited this long I'm not giving up use yet, but 850 works. Even though it's just voice so far. On that note, I assume Sprint is leasing this smr license from T-Mobile for use?
