AT&T wants 3.5 GHz band to promote small cell deployment
Bob Newhart replied to IamMrFamous07's topic in General Topics
Yes, they can install small cells with most frequencies, but actually installing them is another thing. -
I returned mine also, it just wasn't worth it, it was just too slow. There were delays of 5 or more seconds when pressing menu options. I can't believe it was ever released.

FCC votes to approve a plan to allow for paid prioritization.
Bob Newhart replied to jamisonshaw125's topic in General Topics
With your water, do you pay more for the water you wash your dishes with than what you pay for the water your clothes with? That is the reason people want it as a public utility. Not just about cost. -
Top 5% being throttled starting 6/1
Bob Newhart replied to transitwatch889's topic in General Topics
Sprint needs to be put a clear number on lots of things, for example with roaming its either 100MB or 300MB or a % of minutes used in a month. It isn't clear which plan that you have covers what amount, as the online usage amount just says '"see terms" instead of the actual number. Looking at the terms doesn't say what your exact terms are. They just need to be clear, T-Mobile spells out their numbers quite clear for high speed data usage, not so much for low speed data speeds. Straight talk/AIO are very clear with their high and low speed values. My guess is to why Sprint isn't putting exact numbers to the throttling right now is that they don't really know, a work in progress and if they put a speed number, people will complain that they don't even get that speed anyway. The Sprint marketing dept makes me think if they think these days. -

Exactly. Ask the average user how many Gigabytes of data they use per month, they will respond with "what is a Gigabyte?" This is the result of Sprint acknowledging that they have a network problem and can not keep advertizing 'unlimited data' any longer. There are users on here and other sites that will accuse you of abusing your service that you pay for. -
People who believe in mythical creatures are more likely to believe in anything else. It is the same kind of people really.

Very little data can be used, that seems to be what is not understand by the company.

The NFL wants all teams to be equal. It doesn't follow the same methodology as sports in other countries, with division, promotions, relegations. The same with the NHL/NBA/MLS. It is strange. But then again here we fund the millionaires playgrounds (the stadiums) with tax money from the poor (sales taxes), and the NFL pays no tax. So nothing makes sense with sports.

I also changed the animation scale, I put them as zero, which I feel does help a lot also. I try and stop most apps giving notifications too, and stop individual apps syncing in the background. What do you mean set limits on apps running in the background, is on each individual app or is there a global setting?

Do you think we'll receive kitkat on this tab7, or will it be unsupported now the tab4 's are coming out? I know the cell versions of the tab3's came out quite bit later than the wifi versions, so we could be lucky. It can be a little sluggish, but I like it, I was hoping that kitkat will improve it a little. I like the multiuser logins, but I thought it was different to have to download the same app twice, one for each user, using up twice as much room.

I've had that issue sometimes where gps just doesn't work. I have used this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2 I use it clear the downloaded gps data, causing it to update the A-GPS data or tell it not to be used. I clear it, then open up maps, seems to fix it.

Network Vision/LTE - West Washington Market (Seattle/Puget Sound Region)
Bob Newhart replied to drlovety's topic in Markets
Is this real, 800 Mhz signal in the PNW? I'd like to know within a few days, as I'm just about to switch from Sprint after 8 years this week. This could make me change my mind of course.- 1,715 replies

Sprint to join Rural Operators Roaming Hub (CCA and RRPP thread)
Bob Newhart replied to marioc21's topic in General Topics
It saves battery life quite lot if roaming is disabled on a Sprint phone. -
Misleading, how? I get voice delays on outgoing and incoming calls when my Sprint cell number is fully integrated. When roaming, for example on USC or Verizon, the integration isn't there and to make international calls I have to dial my own cell number, enter my password, then dial the call manually. In cases like this, partial google voice integration is better, where it dials an access number automatically, if configured that way.

Why do you want a 16:9 option? When people use that mode for vertical images.... aghhh I'm glad the app tells users to not make vertical videos. Apple needs to disable vertical video in their phones.

I hoping this rumour is very wrong, I doubt that it is true. We don't need no stupid spinning icon to tell us we are on a certain frequency, not at all.

No Nexus5 is locked.

If you use google voice full integration, you'll need to clear the app settings, and then open it again, re-init it.

Sprint LTE Coverage Maps via Sensorly
Bob Newhart replied to S4GRU's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
yeah, the new sensorly web site is worse, more fluff around the edges. -
They do? Some places, yes.

Not one of these answers the question.

I have the 2.0 model Airave with Nexus5 phones right now. I can see the signal level drop to nothing, then roaming, non-roaming. All while running network connectivity monitoring. Had the same issue with Samsung s3 phones too. Can't rely on the Airave, if it works, great !, when it doesn't work, Oh well. I just don't think we should pay the monthly 'fee' for the Airave for such an unreliable device.
