So John is going to send letters to the other three carriers about abolishing overages

http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/t-mobiles-legere-were-going-send-verizon-att-and-sprint-message-abolish-ove/2015-08-27

I say don't try to fix too much cause that will hurt your business. Your nitch is not charging people for going over their data. Now if AT&T,Verizon and Sprint does this then what will set T-mobile apart? People will probably just go back to their old carrier if that's the case.

We are arguing over BBQ? Yikes...

Maryland seafood >>>>> BBQ from anywhere

Oysters, clams, and crabs!

Tastes like pneumonia. And bug meat, sea bug meat.

Credit to Gaffigan.

Two words sum up the current T-Mobile regime:  publicity stunt.

True this would help the competition please their customers and then John can take credit for changing other carriers. Either way I would welcome getting rid of overages and just dropping to 3g.

Like many other moves in the past.

By "current regime," I am talking about the entire John Legere era, not just today.

T-Mobile joins CCA's data roaming hub to expand reciprocal roaming deals with smaller carriers

The hub was launched in March 2013 and Sprint joined in March 2014. T-Mobile has been part of the steering committee for the roaming hub but had not previously allowed CCA members to connect to its network via the hub. According to CCA, there are more than a dozen participating rural and regional carriers in the hub.

.....

Smaller carriers will now be able to access T-Mobile's LTE network for roaming through the hub and T-Mobile will be able to expand roaming partnerships and extend its footprint with members whose network technologies had previously been incompatible.

Didn't see this coming...

Best Buy did a promo like that sometime last fall, I don't remember much about it but I remember the "free service from Sprint for a year" plan.

Yeah, that was the student plan. Free year of service for students.

Geez. I hope they take enough customers that AT&T's network actually improves for once (work phone is AT&T).

But seriously that seems SUPER aggressive. Marcelo making moves = mmm.

Not that AT&T doesn't deserve it. There are, however, plenty of markets AT&T beats Verizon and competes with or beats Sprint (for the time being), and it's improving all over. They just aren't always consistent and aggressive enough for some. Coupled with several sour markets like Denver, and AT&T lacks Verizon's libido for using spectrum quick enough.

I'm not rooting for them, but I'm interested in how AT&T will fare in the future. They have the capacity to hurt Verizon in a lot of markets and compete with Sprint when they rise. But, the question is how will that go with their mess of spectrum, priorities and decisions.

Sprint also previously offered a free year of service if you added a line as one of the Loyalty Service Benefits.

Still got one of those lines. The promo expires in November.

Edit: my free line of service ends of November.

Here is the Rootmetrics blurb in Austin:

AT&T’s median download speed decreased from 21.3 Mbps to 12.3 Mbps since our testing in December.

Sprint’s median download speed increased from 8.5 Mbps to 10.8 Mbps.

Sprint will easily surpass AT&T on the next testing phase here. I am seeing 20+ Mbps everywhere I have tested over the last 2 weeks or so.

No. And so people in Austin should man up, vote with their feet, and leave. So for not doing so, remaining AT&T users deserve that. One market (although bigger ones can hurt a lot) doesn't change the entire impression for a carrier, it simply doesn't help compliment their overall image.

It sucks your employer uses them if they are not good where you are and work. I hope that changes.

However, I almost never hear people admitting Verizon sucks where they do, and there's a lot of apologists not admitting the ugly side of T-Mobile either. That's my problem. Yeah, AT&T does suck in some areas, but that's not my point. And so do the other 3 if you find the right area of the right market. That's still not my point, lol.

That is why you don't cherry pick for an argument. 8 back at you.

However, my point wasn't in defense of AT&T. "They suck in my market" arguments are tiresome and idiotic. I'm sick and tired of hearing them from Verizon and T-Mobile users (even if you're not one), and for the time being, sorry, but AT&T is still a solid #2. That includes their faults, because Verizon has many too, like Sprint and T-Mobile.

I am not entirely sure what you are arguing here. I don't think anyone was arguing with you unless I missed something.
