In Kansas City at least, I can tell you from experience that this isn't the case. Essentially every site is either full Sprint tri-band, or co-located/right next to a Clear B41 site with 2xCA enabled.

 

And the speeds reflect that. If memory serves, I believe this is the first time that Sprint has had an average download greater than 20Mbps. The ONLY reason for them not to tie/win according to the report would be the upload speed, which is ridiculous.

 

What else can Sprint do to further improve performance in this market?

 

Additional back haul?

Replace all the Clear site gear?

Densify with additional macro towers and small cells?

Mostly density. Outdoors pretty much everywhere I am on B41. Many places indoors I'm on B41 as well, but there are places where density would help with indoor B41 coverage. The Clear gear actually works pretty good. I get great coverage and speed from the clear sites in Johnson County (southwest suburbs of KC). In fact, the fastest speed I have seen so far (133Mbps) was on a Clear site in Lenexa.

Advanced beam forming from 8t8r antennas*

 

TDD LTE already uses a basic beam forming technology and the Samsung clear b41 radios are capable of the same TM8 beam forming. It just doesn't perform as well as 8t8r antennas and radios which are substantially more advanced compared to the clear equipment.

The only real way I see using band 25 as uplink and band 41 downlink would be carrier aggregation. B25 as the primary component carrier and b41 as the secondary component carrier.

Looks like Corpus Christie also broke the 20Mbps mark, I'm not sure when that report came out, but I think it was before KC.

Its temporary there was too much fraud and the authorized users had too much power. Once they modify it some it will be back.

Taking out new lines and giving them to their friends, not paying their portion of the bill, and the account gets shut off. That's my best guess.

Since our testing in May, Sprint’s percentage of data tests recorded on LTE increased by nearly 20%.
Subsequently, Sprint’s median download speed increased from 10.8 Mbps to 28.2 Mbps, and Sprint’s median upload speed increased from 6.0 Mbps to 9.1 Mbps.

Sprint recorded the fastest downlink speed, yet it finished fourth in both Network Speed and Data.  That almost has to be uplink speed.  RootMetrics is unduly weighting the uplink.

I believe I set my Dropbox camera uploads on all of my handsets to go over Wi-Fi only.  I do not want those high res images/videos wasting my battery and cellular data.

Appropriate downlink:uplink weighting should be approximately 3:1.  That would be 75 percent downlink, 25 percent uplink.  Absent mass gatherings, the uplink rarely gets congested.  Instead, the downlink gets swamped, while the uplink exceeds it.

This has been in place for about 3 months now, I encountered it trying to upgrade on my family plan. The account holder can make you a temporary holder online and then they'll upgrade you.
