Ascertion
Unlimited Plan price going up on 15 October...$70 now instead of $60. http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-says-hurry-in-before-its-too-late-last-two-weeks-to-get-unlimited-high-speed-data-talk-and-text-for-just-60month.htm I don't see it mentioning current customers...Just new ones. Hopefully not a price-hike on my current ED1500 plan.

AJ I was surprised to see it posted because the Las Vegas results are still listed as "coming soon" Didn't take the down before it hit the reddits though http://www.reddit.com/r/sprint/comments/3myqnh/_/

cletus
It got taken down. Somebody jumped the gun. AJ We’re excited about a lot of things at Sprint these days, but for those of us that work on the network, our 2.5GHz carrier aggregation deployment probably tops the list. The roll-out of two-channel carrier aggregation and antenna beamforming is well underway, and the technology is being used to rapidly improve speeds and performance on high-traffic sites in 80 markets. We’re working aggressively and we’re applying what we learn along the way. Independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics® routinely tests our network, and during their test in August 2015 we were experiencing optimization issues related to our carrier aggregation deployment. This test was a snapshot in time, the issue was limited to Las Vegas, and it was quickly resolved. In fact, RootMetrics in the last few weeks conducted five days of extensive data network testing in Las Vegas and found that Sprint’s median download speed increased from 9.2Mbps to 18.4Mbps. Earlier this week one of my team members in Vegas with a carrier aggregation capable phone captured download speeds at more than 70Mbps along the strip, more than 80Mbps near Warm Springs and Rainbow, and saw download speeds range between 45-65Mbps near McCarren Airport. We’re also seeing strong data performance in other metro markets such as San Francisco and Chicago where carrier aggregation is being deployed. And we’re also excited about the potential of our 2.5GHz spectrum treasure trove which is well suited to move large amounts of data at very high speed. As customer’s demand for mobile data continues to grow, so too will the capacity of our network. #MoveForward

RedSpark
Looks like it was re-posted as of noon eastern. And the RootMetrics scores for Last Vegas are up: http://www.rootmetrics.com/us/rsr/las-vegas-nv/2015/2H Looks like the CA "optimization issue" that the Regional VP mentioned in his blog post definitely affected the results for Sprint. Wow, so basically Sprint would have been considerably faster than the other 3 if it weren't for that issue.

ericdabbs
Here we go . Sprint is raising prices on its single line unlimited data plans from $60/month to $70/month beginning 10/16. The question is are current customers under the $60 plan going to be affected or is it only for new customers signing up after 10/16. I guess this increase in price is to help fund the NGN project. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-raise-price-unlimited-data-plan-60month-70month-starting-oct-16/2015-09-

NYC126
Bad timing for Sprint testing CA in Sin city. No way in hell Sprint would score a 79 in speed at this point, maybe in 2010. Also the lack of the 800mhz spectrum band is affecting the voice test too.
Mr.Nuke
How are the Las Vegas 2H 2015 results newsworthy, as in good news? AJ The only real positive in that report is Rootmetrics likely somehow exposed a huge 8T8R configuration oversight by Ala-Lu, Ericsson, and Sprint somehow missed. It apparently got fixed and if it was more systematic beyond Las Vegas it hopefully is fixed or being fixed as well. That is about the only good take away from that report. Sprint had to have known the window that Root was likely going to be testing, and the fact that they were able to effectively double their speeds with a retest points to a huge screw up.

So basically, you have 800MHz for voice and 1x data? So I would imagine that NGN Densification/Small Cells/2.5GHz would be a priority in these affected markets?
darrelldwllms
If you have the $50 iPhone Plan, can you keep it as long as you have a "iPhone" or is it iPhone specific, and if so will they change your rate plan?
