Due process.  The FCC notifies the offender.  If the offender does not comply, then the FCC, which is part of the Executive Branch, executes laws and applies punitive action.

What sort of device do you think this is, based on the description?

Because of his refusal to cooperate, the device is probably a jammer.

We have too much fooling around with this type of thing.  They should have immediately got the search warrant and if it was intentional interference, grab him and take him with his equipment.    Solve the issue now not later.  Fine him enough to pay all expenses so he never thinks of doing it again.   Nobody obeys the laws anymore.    He probably had some high powered RF amp.

Due process sucks! Let's just round up a mob, attack his house, and make him rot in jail!

...

If the NYPD was involved there would be no waiting. NYC is very sensitive to anything that can involve terrorism and blocking communication to 911 is very serious.

Sorry for the basic question: What would he be using it for on 1900 MHz?

A jammer is well, a jammer.  Designed to interfere with existing frequencies.  It's the same thing as basically DDoSing web sites or services.  There is no point, than to be malicious.  I guess people get the thrill from being "in control" or something.

The writing is on the wall...it's a disgruntled ex-S4GRU member out to curse all Sprint users around him.

Tony Chen? Anyone remember those completely unintelligible comments about taking legal action against Sprint? Maybe he took matters into his own hands... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I'm kidding, I would have also guessed Yarell, but he isn't smart enough to use a signal jammer. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

What is the implication for Sprint and Netflix in America?

None, from what I can tell so far... but these deals are kept so hush hush.... The T-Mobile free year of Netflix giveaway surprised everyone except for a select few I'm sure.

Well, Arena and sport sponsorships really don't help you if during the game your service sucks because it lacks capacity.  They should do those things if during the game they can still manage ~10Mb down and solid text/call ability.  For all those in the stadium that will be great advertising.  Otherwise it means nothing and people will just say they suck which just smears them even more.

Case in point.  I went to a Rockies game a few weeks back (No Rockies jokes.  I had free tickets, otherwise I don't follow them.) and even those I showed B26 (was B41 before the start of the game) I could not even manage better than .5Mb down.  I switched my phone to 3G and that was worse.  It was obvious the tower was horribly overloaded.  Doesn't really show well for Sprint, does it?

Sprint has B41 DAS in all of the stadiums/arenas they sponsor in KC. Sporting KC, Sprint Center, Kauffman and Arrowhead all have upgraded systems to provide excellent service. At last year's World Series, Sprint was the only one with truly functioning service thanks to 2 B41 carriers. Co-workers AT&T and Verizon devices frequently timed out or were extremely slow with data and texts. I had 20Mbps downloads in the 4th inning of game 6.

I'm being stalked by some chick named Fabian. She keeps mentioning this site.

Yes, Fabian does have a "Fatal Attraction" type relationship with S4GRU.  You should get a restraining order against "her."

;)

That's great for KC.  Doesn't do me or anyone else here in Denver a lick of good at games now does it?  Sprint does have B41 in Denver as I am well aware also.  Course, they also say I should have it at my house.  I'm lucky if I get B26, but am normally dropping to 3G.  They still have much work to do...

The image of Sprint, which has been discussed here at length now, is not the greatest.  Anytime the name Sprint comes up, it is never about how you want to go with them.  We can have all of the Rootmetrics scoring we want, that only matters to tech geeks who want to debate the results on a message board.  Everyday users will only see it in their daily use.  IE: out and about.  If people are seeing poor results (like at a major sporting event) and say someone with ATT is not.  Well, how does that look?

I don't think anyone is denying that there is still a lot of progress to be made... But that's actually happening now, and it'll happen to the areas you frequent soon.

I believe the discussion pertained to Sprint's perception in KC, so it was relevant to post.

Being a frequent visitor to Denver, the network there is quite good as well. I haven't been to any of the stadiums or arenas recently, so I can't speak to that, but I know that several new DAS have been set up in Denver over that last year as well, so performance should be improving.

I use Sprint in Denver nearly every month or two and it works very well. And it is way, way better than AT&T there. And the RootMetrics reports prove it. Sprint is not perfect in every location, but when you measure the whole metro, they are competitive. And in the case of AT&T, they kick their ass in Denver. I'm sick of my AT&T data timing out.

Indeed they do, and it's made a real difference from what I've heard. They should also try to put a DAS in MCI as well, if there isn't one already there. They do come out ahead of AT&T for data! (Report)
