  1. Well, it's apparent you never really used your root so I can understand the need to not care about it. I actually USE my rooted device (think Tasker and Secure Settings for starters.) so rooting matters to me more than just getting rid of bloat apps.
  2. So, has anyone rooted the Moto X 2015 yet?
  3. Just be sure that the Sprint service in your area is adequate for your needs. Talk with users of it in your area.
  4. Still shows it in my area. I normally only see really weak (-110 to -119db) B26 or 3G. Never see B41 or B25. I will just keep putting in trouble tickets. Maybe one day...
  5. Something to keep in mind. QOS (Quality of Service) on your router could help in a slow internet connection situation (ie: 10/1) You would need to give the WIFI Calling a greater priority to ensure it has the bandwidth to do it's job. Though, to be fair. I doubt WIFI calling really needs much as voice calls use very little data or bandwidth.
  6. So, what does the shutdown of WiMax mean for us overall? I see WiMax is in use here in Denver. Dunno if I will see much of a change though.
  7. Does anyone have the link to a post on here that breaks down the meaning of 1XRTT, 1X800, etc?
  8. Interesting comment on WIMAX. I just went and checked and I see WIMAX is shown to exist in Denver. That might explain the unequal data performance I am seeing in and around Denver. Curious to see what happens after Nov. 1 when WIMAX is shutdown. Heck, maybe I will actually be able to keep an LTE connection at my house rather than dropping to 3G. The map says I should get B41 there, but I can barely keep B26 outside my home let alone in. Yes, I have and continue to report this through the Sprint Zone app. Yes, I do report the data performance issue to Sprint through the Sprint Zone app fairly regularly. Hoping they will fix it at some point. Might have to report it out at a the power plant I just received an offer to work at as well. Should I accept the offer. Same issue there as well.
  9. All surfaces will affect signal strength to some degree. Just some affect it more than others.
  10. Should also add. I prefer not to give any device complete bandwidth priority. I prefer to give it to the service needing it.
  11. Normally I would say yes, though I prefer to save static ips for wired devices. In the case of the phones, I would prefer to QOS the port so that it doesn't matter what device (phone) is used.
  12. So, just working on configuring my QOS service on my router and want to set it up for WIFI Calling when needed. To do so I need to know the port ranges used by Sprints WIFI Calling. Wonder if anyone on here might know this information.
  13. Looks like those of us on CO are screwed for roaming unless we want to take I70 east. (Let's be honest, who the hell wants to drive I70 east. Ug...)
  14. Ok, I've been out of the loop for a bit. Now, with the Moto X Pure, when I was reading the specs I saw all of Sprints LTE Bands shown, I'm going to guess all of Sprints CDMA bands also are on there. My question is if this is truly the case for this phone?
  15. I run the 64Gb Sandisk Extreme Pro in my HTC One M8. Works just fine and no complaints here.
  16. Heck, I figure I can wait to order the Moto X. Give the guys on xda time to root the phone. I can't stand having a phone that isn't rooted.
  17. Wonder if it will be possible to get WIFI calling on this phone or not. That and Sprint Zone are the only two carrier things I would want.
  18. I get more and more excited about this phone the more I read about it. It will certainly be the replacement to my One M8 now that Motorola finally did it right on this one. The old Moto X almost became my phone, but the lack of an SD Card slot killed it for me. They've fixed that glaring problem IMO.
  19. That's great for KC. Doesn't do me or anyone else here in Denver a lick of good at games now does it? Sprint does have B41 in Denver as I am well aware also. Course, they also say I should have it at my house. I'm lucky if I get B26, but am normally dropping to 3G. They still have much work to do... The image of Sprint, which has been discussed here at length now, is not the greatest. Anytime the name Sprint comes up, it is never about how you want to go with them. We can have all of the Rootmetrics scoring we want, that only matters to tech geeks who want to debate the results on a message board. Everyday users will only see it in their daily use. IE: out and about. If people are seeing poor results (like at a major sporting event) and say someone with ATT is not. Well, how does that look?
  20. Well, Arena and sport sponsorships really don't help you if during the game your service sucks because it lacks capacity. They should do those things if during the game they can still manage ~10Mb down and solid text/call ability. For all those in the stadium that will be great advertising. Otherwise it means nothing and people will just say they suck which just smears them even more. Case in point. I went to a Rockies game a few weeks back (No Rockies jokes. I had free tickets, otherwise I don't follow them.) and even those I showed B26 (was B41 before the start of the game) I could not even manage better than .5Mb down. I switched my phone to 3G and that was worse. It was obvious the tower was horribly overloaded. Doesn't really show well for Sprint, does it?
  21. It's specs seem to say that it can handle a very wide range of bands. I am going to guess that you will be able to swap SIMS to whatever your heart desires.
  22. Can't wait to see what happens to TMO's customer service if that happens. You know, since Comcast is leading the bottom of the pack for it....
  23. Hm, for some reason the last time I attempted to use it for only Google Voice, Hangouts just kept trying to take over my SMS and was even pushing notifications for SMS. Maybe I will take a look at it again if Voice is more integrated now. Just hated Hangouts for SMS. Blah. Though now Google has Google Messanger, which is everything you like in Hangouts and nothing you don't. Just a good simple SMS/MMS app. If it had a dark theme I would still use it.
