IamMrFamous07
wonder what this tweet means from sprint news: "A new era of commitment & cust. srvc. begins tomorrow at 1:30pm CT & Chicago will lead the way #sprintforchicago pic.twitter.com/GvsC8o8ngi " Who knows but maybe a carrier aggregation announcement! dnicekid
Who knows but maybe a carrier aggregation announcement! I think they are going to push leasing with yearly upgrades... Offer some new way of testing their service... In select markets...and announce new stores from radio shack thing... Things we already knew here!

The non tech crowd believe sprint sucks so no way will they transfer their number to test sprint but a "burner" phobe num with zero cost? Why not? That could almost be sprint's slogan. But with the statement "A new era of commitment" I immediately thought of network commitments since that's were sprint lacked in past eras and plus the event is in Chicago and Chicago has been sprints main priority market since NV1.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You can already test with a burner phone number, if you like the service you can have your old number ported over your new line. A better trial without costs/fees, or a $700 hold on your credit card like T-Mobile does would be nice. JossMan
I hope too see new brand color scheme along with a new logo, the black and yellow and current emblem screams Dan Hesse. Don't get me wrong Dan Hesse made great strides to improve Sprint with NV, LTE, and such but Marcelo is at the wheel now driving this company lets see some changes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk For a call center maybe, but maybe this is a HQ move? Talent needs are much different if it is a HQ move. All pure speculation though. I have a feeling this is really just the launch of the new Sprint - showcasing what Sprint can DELIVER with the right resources.
jreuschl
Apparently it is a Co announcement with Mayor Dead Fish Emanuel so likely some like of jobs announcement. https://twitter.com/ChicagosMayor https://twitter.com/Acting_DM_Mike/status/582581706768703488 Well also looking closely at the poster, I do see something about additional LTE coverage planned. From another Tweet: "Sprint will announce its adding cell towers, opening stores & Chicago 1st city in the USA to get a faster network. " So maybe it will be CA.

jreuschl
Another strong market for Sprint http://www.rootmetrics.com/us/rsr/ogden-ut But but.. When I used Sprint 5 years ago they were slower! And T-Mobile has a cool CEO so Sprint still sucks! Good news!

marioc21
Looks like it's just a jobs announcement. Here's a live feed http://digital.cityofchicago.org/index.php/video-2/ The guy talking is not a very smooth speaker. Basically 1. We've made the chicago network great. 2. will be spending more to make it better 3. Opening a bunch of new stores this year to give customers a great experience. Jobs Jobs Jobs. FYI - Convenient with Chicago mayor's race in runoff election.

Paynefanbro
Capacity is limited. Sprint's network isn't the only network that crumbles under stress as many people would have people believe.
lou99/maximus1987
Ouch. According to http://www.spectrumgateway.com/t-mobile-spectrum-holdings TMO in Odgen has: AWS: 20 MHz fdd PCS: 15 MHz fdd They're probably still running 5x5 lte.
