LG G2 Users Thread!

The only time I heard of substantial difference in signal strength from using a case, it was from one that used a metallic paint that simulated brushed metal. The cost you pay to look fancy, I guess.

I am not a User, but I play one on TV.

The G2 OtterBox case fits great in the car. All I need now is the actual phone.

Just over 15 days and it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

That does look like a good deal and you get to keep your upgrade.  Its like buying a Nexus 5.

I know that's a really good deal. I actually just emailed the ad to see if he would ship it to florida. Pay through paypal

So I just received my G2 today and I'm sad to report that it's lte reception is absolutely horrible. I currently reside in the Daytona Beach area. I am coming from an HTC One and was able to get perfectly useable signal in my house and around town with zero issues. This handset will not connect to 4g anywhere without toggling data, and even then struggles to maintain signal for more than a minute. I am hoping that they release an update to address the radio issues before launch. Besides the pathetic lte coverage, the phone is great.

In addition,I have not adjusted any of the band class settings. I also expected the same issue where I toggled data in a known lte area and received the "unable to establish a wireless data connection"error before the device switched back to 3g.

From what I've gathered, it sounds like there is an issue beyond LTE reception. It's getting kicked off the network. Even the notorious EVO LTE didn't have that issue.

I assume your mobile data networks setting is set to "CDMA/LTE" mode instead of "Global".  Also can you download the SignalCheck app and provide screenshots of the readings on the SignalCheck app as well as the "LTE Engineering" menu of dialer code ##DEBUG# (##33284#).

Also did you update your Profile and PRL?

Agreed.  Unless the case is metallic, I doubt a TPU case is going to dramatically affect your signal strength.

welllll....i wished i could have 1 as b41 is hot and live out here in Utah....

but i would need to be on the phone with someone to tell what buttons to push

I left my rep a VM asking her to pull strings so i can get one and check it out....

but i must say...this thread has me a bit worried...

I wonder if more b41 over 25 (or 26, which is 1900 and which is 800??)   would work better for now???

Looks like this device may eventually support direct connect.

##DATA# > More >Direct Connect

Gives option for SDC Registation and LTE Specific Paramaters

Downloaded the SDC app but the current version is unsupported.

i noticed this as well, been so busy messing with lte i didnt mention it

Any update on your LTE connection?  Is it more stable now or is it fluctuating or dropping out?  I hope its stable enough that you can say that you have held onto LTE for several hours without issue.

It seems like every new person who gets the LG G2 is having some LTE authentication issues.  Trying to figure out what the common problem is.

The G2 has not yet been released. People are jumping the gun. Sprint must be punishing them for violating their NDA.

The Galaxy Note 3 has this option as well.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
