Network Vision/LTE - Cleveland/NE Ohio Market

So far today, I have a very weak signal.  And I'm not connecting to the usual site that I connect to.  I seem to be bouncing from site to site, most of the time on 1X.

Just ran a speedtest in downtown Cleveland.  It's coming up at between 4 and 5 Mbps up and down.  Fastest I've seen!  I only have a 4S but it's smoking fast right now.  So this is how the other half lives, huh?  :)

Hope it stays this way!

I'm now connecting back to the site I usually connect to, with a good signal strength.

The plug was pulled completely on my local site for about 6 hours as they were doing the NV transition; I live in a rural area though. I was near downtown Warren last week and signal carriers are about all that existed. I had no data up or down and most text messages I sent failed. I was able to at least make a phone call. :)

Well, back to life....back to reality!  Recent tests are showing 167kbps down and 5kbps up.  It was nice while it lasted!  hopefully they were doing some testing so we can be close to 4g speeds downtown!

I wouldn't get too excited about 5 down and 5 up speeds anyway. Until they're officially on and are being used for a good while we don't know what typical speeds will be. WiMax, although it's yesterday's tech, is showing far reduced speeds on my phone even at 3 bars around here recently. But that may be due to the ongoing work on the upgrades.

About 2 days ago I got another text message from Sprint. This one said "the tower you are most frequently using will be going under improvements. Expect disruption with calls and data" or something like that. Then this morning I woke up to 1x and roaming only. I remember everyone telling me that these text are only a marketing strategy but now I have data outages all around me. Should I expect LTE real soon or just improved 3g after these improvements

LTE coverage was on and off yesterday from the Chapel Hill area.

My local tower in Cuyahoga Falls appears to have been shut down last night as I was roaming on Verizon for Data and for voice this morning.

I don't think that's a generic marketing text, I think you should expect some type of NV upgrade soon. The way things have been going around here, if it's 3G only LTE will not be too far behind.

Those are like 1X speeds! Sounds like a good sign of progress, though.

That's what I'm hoping for! Do you know how long these improvements usually take?

No idea, I'd only be guessing. But progress around NEO has been very aggressive the last couple of weeks so I would be optimistic if I were you.

Major data issues today in stow. Lost data completely several times then it comes back with full bars, back and forth all morning. Looks like mrick was right. Our towers might be in process. Awesome.

Still not getting lte at my house in stow. The wife's photon Q is still on 3g. Will have to run over to rt 43 tomorrow and see if we can get lte on the Q.

The day i get enough signal inside my house to make a call without my airave will be quite a wonderful day for me.  My expectations are lowered to the point that if I can just get signal in my neighborhood I'd be excited...that's horrible.

Anybody else see any CSFB issues in the Beachwood/Orange area.  Phone will absolutely not drop out of LTE to answer a call, and calls made while on LTE do not go through.. Manually changing to 3G allows phone to work flawlessly... (Except of course there is NO lte) :-(

Yikes looks like CSFB is turned off in North East Ohio.. Galaxy tab says 4G.. Nexus 5 only connects for a second and then drops to 1x and EVDO.. Not even eHRPD. Has been like this since 2:00 this afternoon and is consistent from Beachwood to North Ridgeville. Numerous reboots and network resets result with the same no LTE issue..
