  1. I switched from a note 4 to a note 5. Band 41 performance is better than what the 4 was, at least from what I've noticed. Generally obtains a better signal, but I couldn't tell you specifically how much better it seems to do. Plus the note 5 supports CA.
  2. I had updated my note on Friday, it started off good, with just one random restart. However, I still seem to be having issues. If it matters at all, it just doesn't happen on the same level as the previous update, but my phone still locks up and goes back to the lock screen.
  3. I open pdf's all the time and I've never had an issue and I use adobe reader. If I recall, it does have a search option, I've used it before when searching for specific text in a pdf.
  4. Wooohoo! Some towers in Mentor getting their 3G upgrades, hopefully this means lte won't be too far away!
  5. I have an otterbox defender with an iloome screen protector. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5421-iloome-lg-g2-screen-protector/ Needless to say, I love the defender as long as I'm not using the screen protector that was built into the case. (I ripped it out)
  6. I to am watching my beast get drained, it's rather upsetting to be honest. At first, I was just shrugging it off, as the first day I noticed it, I was in a bad area with little to no signal, but even in areas where I have good signal, and I don't even touch my phone, the battery was draining at a ridiculous rate, so I downloaded BatteryGuru. I was hoping to see if it would help a little bit, and I even disabled Google now and a few other things, but it's really not doing me too much I don't think. Anyways, I hope this issue will be fixed soon, otherwise, I'm going to remain upset.
  7. If I recall, mine didn't change until I did a profile update, then band 41/26 were enabled.
  8. I don't know about that. I'm still getting around the same speeds, which is faster than yours. I think it just has to do with the amount of people connected to the tower.
  9. I received the update over WiFi.
  10. I feel terrible but... 21.66 down and 5.25 up.
  11. All I have to do now is wait. I should have my screen protector by either Friday or Saturday.
  12. The defender is great other than that stupid air gap. It makes using the phone sometimes annoying. Too bad there isn't as many cases as there are for the Samsung Galaxy S3/S4. I really miss my Griffin Survivor. I loved that case, I ditched my old Otterbox defender case (For the Samsung Galaxy S3) until a few months ago, the case started ripping due to heavy wear and tear. The thing I hate about the Otterbox defenders is that dust gets underneath the dang screen protector, so that's another reason why I ordered a screen protector. My Griffin Survivor never had that problem, as they fully sealed the display inside the case, where there is cut-outs in the Otterbox. If I don't like my iloome, I'll probably give that a try. Based on the reviews, I think I should be happy. This is the first time I've ordered a glass screen protector, so hopefully I'll like it. I've always had plastic built in screen protectors, so this should be a nice change. You know, I don't understand why they made it flexible, I would only see that being useful for the LG G Flex.
  13. So... I just ordered myself a screen protector from iloome. Has anyone ordered a screen protector from them, if so, how is it? If I thought the G2 would survive a fall in the folio case, I'd just use that, but obviously it's thin plastic, come on LG! Not sure if it's been discussed here or not, but if any of you are thinking about getting an otterbox defender, please be aware that it has a gap between the screen and screen protector. I didn't think it'd be that bad, but it really is terrible. Once the screen protector arrives, I'm going to pop the otterbox one out of the defender. Other than that, the case is great, saved my G2 numerous times. I ordered it off of ebay from iloome. (You can either order it from their site or ebay, I found that it would ship faster through ebay after placing the first order through their site then cancelling it) They also have a deal running (Ebay says 2 days left), and supposedly it's a 43% off deal, so I paid $16.99. http://www.iloome.com/LG-G2-Screen-Protector-Flexible/dp/B00F4IIGMM
  14. No, I don't even think I have a use for that type of speed. But videos and everything load nicely. I don't even use wifi at home anymore, since the speeds are just about the same. I've used 470MB of data just on speedtest alone, with Sensorly at 187MB. I could even do without unlimited data, but if it's there, why not have it? I have yet to use more than 3GB of data, as I simply do not use that much data.
  15. Has anyone who has seen LTE ever pull 30Mbps on band 25? I just did, and that'd be the first. The test was ran early in the morning, so perhaps the tower wasn't being pounded, but I just ran a test again, and pulled 24Mbps. If it keeps this up, I wouldn't even care for band 41, at least at home, but in the more heavily populated areas, band 41 would be nice to have.
  16. I wouldn't say so, we should at least have 800 voice, which will help us have a usable signal for calls. Even then, band 25 LTE isn't terrible, when I have a low LTE signal on band 25, I'm still getting better speeds than 3G. Furthermore, more places are starting to offer free wifi, so if you're in a building and can't get LTE, perhaps they may offer a free wifi network to connect to. As far as band 41, if it's deployed on enough sites and the area is blanketed with it, I have hope that I'll be able to use it without too many problems.
  17. Well that's a bummer. Band 26 would be crucial for battling verizon out here, since I know a bunch of people who use big red. I'm also wondering how well band 41 would go here. The further east you go in Ohio, the less towers, so perhaps you'd only benefit from band 41 in the more heavily populated areas, and I don't think it has very good reach. I've never owned a wimax device, so I wouldn't know. Oh well, I think the weather needs to warm up, especially if we want to see NV work get done faster. I'm not upset if progress is stalled right now, I surely wouldn't want to get up on a cold steel tower and get covered in snow, or even dig in the frozen ground. Maybe with our bipolar weather, we'll get a warm week soon!
  18. Well, my question is, for the towers that are near the lake, why not only have them broadcast band 26 everywhere but north?
  19. Yes, the tower that serves my house has had lte for two and half weeks now. A few towers in Madison even longer. The fairgrounds tower will probably see LTE soon, I remember seeing decent 3G speeds, and there has been a couple permits for that tower regarding panel upgrades. As what the Sprint rep told me back in late December, they're working their way into Cleveland, so most likely Painesville will be finished up soon, then Mentor and so on. The Cleveland market should really begin to see a lot of activity in February and beginning of March. I'm starting to get excited! Now I just want to see some band 26/41 love. Even if we can't have band 26, I at least want to see 800 voice, and since clearwire had coverage here, I'm hoping the wimax will be replaced with the LTE.
  20. I also got the text, I'm in the Painesville Area.
  21. Ya it may be a refurb. I cringe every time my phone falls on the floor, I don't know if I can trust it being in an otterbox defender either.

  23. Actually, I think quite a few of the "apps" on the G2 aren't really installed, it's more so of a shortcut to download them from the play store. As I remember clicking on a few things and it took me straight to the google play store to download it. So I removed some crap off the app menu once I discovered this, including lookout. However, some of the extra garbage is installed, and you can't remove it, like that stupid lumen toolbar. (I just decided to disable it, damn you LG!)
  24. It does, but I enjoy having my device's location mapped every 30 minutes.
  25. I only use the anti-theft features to track my phone in case I manage to leave it behind, and I just disable everything that isn't related to the anti-theft. I wish android device manager had more to offer, otherwise I'd just use that.
