Has anyone heard anything more definitive on roll outs here? I'm in NOVA (Herndon area) and have the tower near my home completely useless - speed test just keeps saying try again. The tower directly across from my office (visible from my window) is almost equally as worthless. Not ranting but almost 6 months of virtually no service is wearing on me.

I'm in the B'more market frequently and know the wait will be worth it but the lack of service at the moment is more than painful. I keep thinking they will turn the switch soon but I've been holding my breath too long now.

PIcked up an LTE signal near Union Station tonight around 7:30 p.m. Mapped it on Sensorly but couldn't pick it up as I headed east.

Which side of Union Station were you on? It sounds like you were heading to H st... If so, I bet you were being teased by WA73XC422 (Maryland Ave NE & 2nd St NE). Anyone work around the Capitol building?

Wow... I'm smh reading some of the negative and harsh toned posts from the closed forum.

We're close guys. Perhaps closer than most markets. In this time of Thanksgiving lets concentrate on what we do have as opposed to what we don't.

Let me start.

Three of the four towers around my house are 3G complete already (PWC). That's going to be sweeeet when they're lte complete - which I'm sure is right around the corner.

Thank you Sprint for what you have given me. :-)

You know. Having finally received my Ingress invite. This gives me an excuse to walk around the city for multiple reasons. I'll go for a walk during lunch and see if i can grow the sensorly map a bit

For those who dont know what Ingress is

Thanks for grabbing this! I pick-up/drop-off my Bike Share bike right there every day, so I'll definitely be sniffing around the area.

On the east side. I think I would have gotten the one at 2nd and MD at street level if that were the case. I'm up high near 2nd and F NE so I wonder if I'm picking up WA54XC490 all the way up at 1st and P NE over the train tracks. There's another site on the unit block of I St NE but that one is not reported to be complete. Maybe it will be on next week's list.

Just uploaded 103 points of LTE data to Sensorly between the capital and union station.

Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2

Thanks! I can see it going around Columbus Circle and down Louisiana Ave

Between cycling airplane mode and turning on sensorly I was still able to grab a few points north of union station while on the train too.

Other than the fact that it is actually pretty interesting and I love the fact that it gets our asses up and outside...Not really. Between this and hunting down LTE for Sensorly. There will be plenty of walking. Some must read before you start

Back on to subject. Wasnt able to pic anything up today. Curious how the antenna logic works now.

No LTE in Reston again. I toggled airplane mode in a couple places hoping to get a whiff of the completed site there. No dice. I did get to experience LTE in the Shentel markets and can say it will be awesome when it comes to NOVA.

I get much better 3G speeds average .87 down .80 up in the Largo/Landover MD area along route 202 picked up a LTE signal in Seat Pleasnt MD by the recreational center on Saturday not sure if that was coming from one of the towers transmitting LTE on Benning Rd in DC but it's progress I guess.

Went for a morning constitutional, grabbed some coffee and 28 more points (we need a scoreboard! LTE MMO! ha) over near the Mandarin Oriental. Maybe this means that WA57XC015 is also sending out LTE.

Was turning on my Play Music to get my day started and noticed I was on LTE in Capitol Heights. Along MLK Highway close to the McDonalds. Did a couple of speed tests to confirm and the highest I got was 11Mbps. Hopefully it's turned on for good because that area makes me want to throw my phone out the window.

Even though Sprint doesn't have the best coverage in my area. I do have lots of memories and nostalgia with the company. I wonder who else here will miss Sprint besides me?

I'm new to this forum, and I've seen people mention cell sites with specific ID's (for example, SF33XC664). Is there any significance to these ID's, and is there a way to decode them? Also, how do I figure out what the cell site ID's are for towers near me?
Thanks! I'm excited to start talking on this site more 😀

Samsung Network Vision equipment are highly distinct and fairly easy to spot compared to the equipment that other vendors are deploying. Sprint is Samsung's first extremely massive American contract (baring Clearwire) so there  should be no issues in confusing these equipment for another carrier which happens often with Ericsson NV equipment.

Below are images of Samsung equipment which includes antennas, remote radio units, base stations, and their mounting configurations.

    • Has your site been upgraded? Because B4/B66 performs worse on the new Nokia AAFIA Massive MIMO equipment in Texas. Before the upgrades, T-Mobile physically split sectors for B2/4/66 and coverage+performance was pretty impressive. B4/66 coverage was actually very close to that of B2 (even outperforming it in some instances). Now that my local tower has been upgraded, I still receive B12 and B2 from it. But my B4/66 now comes from a different neighboring tower as my home tower's B4/66 is drowned out. As you can imagine, I no longer get the same peak speeds as before since CA doesn't play nice with bands coming from different towers. Even the newly added B41 has a better reach than B4/66 (getting 80+ mbps downloads on B41+B41, T-Mobile just needs to optimize load balancing as B41 thresholds seem very conservative).
    • I don't have the "hearing me" problem, but I bet it's network related..... I just rarely get calls and texts when people call me or text me. Telemarketers seem to always get through but never the important calls. The New T-mobile sucks just as hard as the Old Sprint.
    • At one point i was on B66 all the time at our house, but now i almost never see Band 66.  I haven't paid attention to the PLMNs,  i will have to check.  We haven't had the issue in a few days, hopefully they have fixed whatever the issue was.
    • It's amazing how quickly T-Mobile is integrating Sprint's network assets after the merger and putting itself on real competitive footing with Verizon/AT&T. With the launch of the 5G iPhone, uptake of new 5G devices on T-Mobile's network must be substantial. T-Mobile's midband capacity from Sprint is making a real difference in usability and speed.
