Wow, almost a month without any posts... I'm still waiting on the two towers nearest to my house to be upgraded :(

Those are the two near me. I don't know about San Francisco and San Pedro (permit was issued in May) but Wyoming and Harper is done (permit issued same time as other). Look at the schedule maps in the premier for the dates. Very encouraging for those and other sites in far northeast heights. Also it will help when the Hoffmantown tower is 4g as well.

I noticed a 4th ruu's mounted recently on the coors and Rio bravo site, what would the 4th one be for? It originally had three.

For an extra carrier high capacity site. A lot of sites in NE Heights have this.

Was on my way home and checking my signal as I pass the tower before my house and LTE popped up on the screen.  So finally it is back on the east side of cruces.  Haven't gone out to see if the other towers are transmitting but will do that soon.  Band 25.  I was getting 3up/down and 800 ping on sensorly, but 50ping on ookla. Dismal LTE speeds, but WAY better than 0 3g speeds!

Never count on Sensorly for accurate ping. Yowzer.

Yeah, if the ping was that bad, I wouldn't be getting the up and down results as fast as I was.  ill be way more excited if when I go out all of cruces has lte.  I don't use cell connection at home of course.

I am amazed that sprint hasn't started band 26 yet. Crazy.

Went up to Santa Fe couple of days ago and the network was really good. Most likely bc no one has sprint there. Still no LTE which boggles my mind.

CenturyLink is the backhaul provider there, for sure.

    • Their offers have been crap recently, so this is just more evidence to not buy from T-Mobile.
    • T-Mobile Will Soon Prevent Early Payoff Of Phones Receiving Bill Credits If you finance a phone with T-Mobile it will remain locked until paid off but now you won't be able to pay off early. If you don't currently purchase your phones from the manufacturer here is another reason it might be a good idea.
    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — —  Old permit for this new install expired but a new one was recently issued. It's gonna be similar to the site at 360 Forman St in Brooklyn Heights. Permit calls for only 3 antennas to be installed so I'm assuming it gonna be Band 2/41/66 and n25/41 only which is a bit of a downgrade from the now decommissioned full build that was on 871 7th Ave but in it's current state the nearest macro is a few blocks away and a small cell at Broadway and 55th is doing a lot of heavy lifting in the area so anything helps.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
