Guys. Sprint is better than ever. No more drop calls for me from UPR to Toa Baja and vice versa. Very good LTE speed. UPR Río Piedras Campus have LTE everywhere and usable 3g if LTE isnt available. I'

My phone found an LTE connection while eating at the Taco Bell outside San Patricio tonight, first time I've had LTE anywhere near there... I spazzed and forgot to test it or look up any info before I started driving back home tho, it dropped once I was on the #2 and driving towards Bayamon. At least it seems they're finally working the area. I'll probably check if the signal reaches inside the mall tomorrow.

Not possible. Another entity holds the SMR 800 frequency in PR + there are numerous international boundary issues to work out even if possible (2+ years minimum as they'll be dealing with foreign governments..

 

I don't know how or why this persists, but I've shown somewhere in this thread and elsewhere that Sprint does indeed have 800MHz SMR licenses in Puerto Rico and the USVI. Now if they've sold them, which I doubt, then that's another story. I'll really admit that I don't know anything regarding any international border issues in PR. What country or countries might they have an issue with

It's also known that 800 MHz will not be deployed in PR anytime soon. However, I'm not sure we have a definitive reasoning for this.

Well I won't be back in St. thomas for another few weeks so I don't know about that but I do know that it started doing that right before I left for atlanta a couple weeks ago.

Just passed by the UPR-B site, there was an Ericsson truck (who handle the site inspections), but also a machine not unlike the ones used for underground cable laying. Just theorizing here, but maybe they're laying more fiber?

Any news on the Old San Juan sites? I work there and its been HORRIBLE for the last several weeks. There is usually no data at all during the day.

 

Just was there from "El Capitolio" to "La Fortaleza" and had pretty decent service although i didnt made any speed test!!!

I after that area you lose all data. I am taking the old old San Juan area near the piers, Fortaleza etc

You can get LTE in the Puerta de Tierra area but not the "city". I know there are two sites because I saw the constructions permits signs in the Marshall's building last November and I believe the other is near the Sheraton.

Those two site in Old San Juan are one of the three or four in PR that they have not been able to work on due to permits and it being on a historical area and some more blah blah blah.

My sprint bill arrived today, 3~4months ago I barely used 300mb of monthly data due to terrible network issues. Now i'm averaging around 3~4gb a month of 4g data and 700mb of 3g data according to the bill. :)

<br /><br />Given how good sprints signal has gotten in the metro area, I suspect they had many towers down prior to the nv upgrade. Maybe they were putting off doing repairs since the overhaul was about to happen and they were falling back on roaming agreements

Just got an HTC One for my sister to replace her OG Evo 4g. Its amazing, especially the speakers. HTC sense has come a long way, Its smooth. The camera is great, the ultra pixels work better in low light. But in normal lighting conditions I found the iphone 5's camera is just the same.

 

I'm due for an upgrade this month but I'll probably hold off until sprint releases the Note III or a significant phone with 800mhz support. For now, I'll hang on to my GS3/IP5

 

Related to our market I'm desperately waiting for the UPRB site to go live.

Why would you want a phone with 800mhz support if its not going to go live in PR?

 

 

Starting this year in UPRB so hopefully it goes live by the time I go there.

      Interesting, I saw this too on my AT&T S22 while roaming on US Cellular. I thought it was an Android bug since CellMapper was doing the same thing (didn't get a screenshot of that one). N66 makes more sense than N1.

      Thanks, that was good timing, I did see your report as I was buttoning up this latest update and added an override for that.. did it not work?   Ok, was that on AT&T also? Please send a report if you happen to see it again and safely have the opportunity. You can always do the long-press on the fly and then send a later one with an explanation pointing to the earlier one.. your username is attached to the long-press reports, so it's not an issue.

      I sent a report in earlier, n66 reporting as n1. There should be two different reports, I couldn't find the button the first time so I just long pressed the connection type to send, then I remembered where it was. I put a note about the issue on the 2nd report. Both reports from me are for the same issue. Also, it might have been on a prior release but earlier this week I also saw n66 reported as n65 on the app. I was driving and wasn't able to send a report in for that one.

      One more SCP beta rolling out.. includes more bugfixes and minor improvements. Pending any major issues with this version, it will be released to the public within a few days. Thanks for all the help and feedback!

      Passed by the former Sprint site at 1184 60th St in Brooklyn last week and noticed T-Mobile took down all of the Sprint equipment but it looked like they installed some new cabinets so conversion is likely in progress.
