Network Vision/LTE - Lower Central Valley Market (Fresno, Bakersfield, Visalia)

Hi there, its the first time I comment on this thing. I live in Kerman and ever since they started the 800mhz upgrade, my area has almost turned into a dead zone. Luckily today I found out that the optimization process is at 93%. Ever since the optimization process started, my data connection has dropped and become useless. Even though the 3G sign appears, signal check says there is no data connection. Can't wait until it's completed!

Welcome to S4GRU! Yes, funny things have occurred in a few areas since Network Vision started. But once it's done, it'll work so much better than it did before! Hope to see you around more often.

A friend just got back from Vegas and said the LTE was either great or not there at all depending on location. Mostly there but if it isn't even the 3g is awful.

yes I know 4G is LTE yet when you look on the Sprint maps LTE is not on their site on 4G WiMAX is so just need to know if there is a Thread on S4GRU that may talk about it more

There is a Vegas thread.

Vegas is not launched yet but is pretty much entirely covered with Band 25 and even a few spots of Band 41.

I just got off the phone with a rep and they told me that the upgrade in Kerman's only tower would be fully completed by the 14th around 11 in the morning. And that LTE would be "fully operational" by the next month. By "fully operational" does that mean that they will begin testing it the next month or will the testing be completed the next month? What do you guys think?

The one on 180 and Brawley is no longer there , went through a couple times and got nothing. But this morning at broadway and tuolumne st I got LTE but very weak signal and it wouldn't stay long even if I moved a tad bit it was gone. Ive been trying to map so sensorly and for some reason it wont do it? Anyone else having this issue

Depends where you are, was in Anaheim this past week and very "place" dependent. There are spots of blazing and places (like Disneyland) where you are better off leaving it on 3g only as it will keep switching to really bad lte!  California Adventure however has half the park bathed in 4G that is awesome and then spots where you are better off staying on 3G only. Very annoying but obviously in a situation like that it gets overloaded very, very easily! LOL!

My wife's has a Spark enabled phone and there were places in LA that were Umm... WOW! (she refuses to waste time running speed tests though) but you could download large files in a flash!

So far in Kerman, the single tower has been fully upgraded and optimized since the 17th of july. After the upgrade my signal has been worse than what it used to be and it has become very unstable. And my data connection keep disconnecting every few minutes. Does anyone know what might be the cause? This starts happening more frequently around 8 pm and last until 11 am every day. It took several calls but they finally came to the conclusion that it was something with the tower and not my phone. Also, I'm only experiencing this in my neighborhood while the rest of the town seems to be back to normal.

And how do you know it has been optimized?

The problem with the unstable signal and 3G (data) disconnecting started happening like a few days back. So I called and they said that the tower should be up and running perfectly again on the 17th. So I called reporting the same problem still on the 18th and today, and they said that the upgrades had been complete on the 14th and fully optimized by the 17th. So for two days they kept doing the basic troubleshooting without success and sending reports to the engineers. Until today when they finally made some sort of report (I cant remember for who it was) and they said that it would take about 7 days to get a response and up to a few weeks to get the problem fixed. The weird thing is that I have sort of a stable signal during the day but once it gets to around 8pm that's when things start getting unstable.

I wish the new phones made it easier to toggle 4G on and off, like the wimax phones

It sure is easy on the Nexus 5. Go to Settings > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Type.
