Network Vision/LTE - Lower Central Valley Market (Fresno, Bakersfield, Visalia)

Seems like Sprint updated their coverage maps to show all towers that currently have LTE.

The coverage range of LTE towers is exaggerated compared to the tower's range on the "voice" maps, but at least you can somewhat tell what towers have LTE right now. :tu:  Hopefully they keep updating the maps frequently.

At this level it shows all signal levels for LTE. And that's not helpful. Zoom in to the point it shows the BEST and FAIR signal gradients for LTE. Then ignore FAIR and just see where BEST is shown. And that's pretty accurate.

Sweet. I can confirm the BEST signal fits Hanford more accurately (just 1 tower out of 3 lit here).

If you are on either tower, then you should eventually get LTE. Of course, I didn't realize that Lemon Cove was pretty much fully covered in Sprint native service.

No, it doesn't. Sprint does not have any awareness or desire to have awareness about small fry ISPs like Sebastian unless there are no other options in the area. I can't remember which direction that dish is pointed but it may be pointed at another Sprint site with fiber backhaul.

I used to service a client out in Kerman that had a 50/5 or 50/10 FTTP connection from them and it was flaky as a fine croissant, anyway.

Yes it does but I am done arguing about it......

Certainly a welcome sign being 3g there is horrible let's go sanjoaquin!!!

No it doesn't. Sprint has 40,000 sites; they don't have time to screw around with extremely granular selection of backhaul vendors.

Do sprint have 10x10lte in Fresno?

No. 1900 and 800 are 5x5 and B41 is 20x20 (I think?) B41 is kind of a moot point because of how crappy Sprint's tower spacing is and the fact that they are at least 6 months away from deploying that gear.

In TDD LTE notation it's just stated as 20 MHz TDD LTE as it's unpaired spectrum and it alternatives between upload and download on each time slot.

All markets and cities will get band 41 lte. First will be the areas that are struggling real bad and eventually it'll be every site and then some.

Sprint likes to get as few backhaul providers as possible per market for logistics and simplicity of management. They went out to bid looking for coverage first. Each bidder showed which sites they could cover, and then they were selected.

Then a list of sites which were not covered by bids is put together, and Sprint regional managers have to hunt down who can provide fiber to that site, one by one. Sometimes even the OEM helps when that happens. This is the reasoning why many full build sites are waiting to go LTE. I hear some good things that Sprint may be looking to go to microwave on some of these remaining sites.

Fiber is very admirable. But microwave to bridge the gap is needed now. Fiber can follow up later. This is what VZW did. They used lots of MW at sites they could not get fiber quickly, easily or at a reasonable cost.

I am not sure what this means but I am in downtown Fresno and my LTE notification on my LG G3 started spinning and locked onto a signal this morning.  Pretty spotty though as it has been lighting up for a short bit, then turning off, then lighting up, then turning off.

I would like to think that this is good news?

Where in downtown are you? And in downtown I've been getting it on and off around the mall area but only a few places but it seems to be a bit stronger over the past 5 days

Oh so it's expanding, I've only gotten it around the cvs area, where the ace parking is. You should map it if possible. Also I've noticed I was able to stream Internet radio till 930 today, usually it cuts it at 730 haha maybe it's a sign of good things coming
