  1. No, this is a Wimax / LTE dual site. Nope, other Sprint build towers are 8T8R
  2. Just feel like the network feels less stable on the 880 between San Jose and the 92. I used to coast nicely on B41 (Clear) and now I jump between a weak B26 signal, blinks of B25 and stretches of B41.
  3. Why would Sprint remove Clear B41 signals already? Wouldn't it be better to incorporate the sites into the Sprint network as 4G only? The site I am talking about is on McKeever Ave on top of an office building
  4. Looks like that B26 still needs a lot of work from Oakland to San Jose. Not sure why but Sprint may have switched B41 towers and shut down some Clearwire towers
  5. There is a lot of B26 alive at the San Jose Airport and throughout the city. In Hayward, Sprint must have gone 8T8R because and shut off some Clearwire B41 sites because I used to get a nice signal and all I get now is a weak B41 signal from a site with 310 120 ID.
  6. Just buy a couple of regional networks and done.
  7. What is a big mystery for me, why Sprint neglected the central valley for so many years. MetroPCS and Cricket had better coverage and I honestly hope that Sprint will do something about the gaps on the I-5
  8. I have noticed that on some Triband phones when you are in a data session. Not for Vegas (yet)
  9. I used Clearwire since they launched LA and I actually still have it as backup since Cox can't keep their network up all the time or some idot crashed again into the pole which holds the cable lines for the neighborhood. OC has been fortunate in some ways because I still get 10MB down on wimax. Prices have gone up and there has been no real competition to drive prices down. Yes everybody likes to pay less. Clearwire is to blame because their objective was a staionary system while Sprint wanted mobile Internet. I remember Orlando, FL where Clearewire decided that the parks needed no coverage.
  10. That seems to be the top speed at the moment on any 8T8R deployment. As soon I hit a Clear convertion, I am able to hit speeds between 60-70MB down.
  11. That can be B25 for you. I wasn't able to use B25 in most areas of OC for some time until I got my tri-band phone. I hope you get blessed soon
  12. True, but DT has stated that is doen't want to fund any additional business in the U.S. DT has a lot of problems in their "domestic" European market, especially in southern and eastern Europe
  13. T-Mobile USA's problem will show next year because Deutsche Telekom is not willing to fund additional expansion in the U.S. because the credit rating of TMo US is lower as DT's. Sprint has been smart to wait and it will clearly use Softbanks full pockets to clean up the 600 Mhz band auction. Since NV provides the platform, we could see a nationwide rollout even faster as the LTE deployment by TMo.
  14. What was the issue with technical issues on the new 8T8R radios? The article claimed that Sprint had some issues.
  15. We are talking about customer perception and some people only have Sprint's signle band LTE service available. Would it been nicer to have everybody on Tri-band devices? Yes but we don't. People see that TMo can deliver higher speeds with their LTE device while Sprints can't (single band). Most people forget that the average consumer is not very well educated and sees LTE as a speedy service. People hear the advertising from TMo and see what Sprint offers. Sure, TMo is not telling them that their coverage sucks outside the cities and many find out when it is too late.
  16. Is there a timeframe when Sprint will have the network up and running? There is a core CDMA network and will that be used first before going full NV on Montana?
  17. That was a good one, NII has other issues at the moment and it would be cheaper for Sprint just to buy NII and do it all together.
  18. I guess the South of the city may still have some issues. Northern parts, Summerlin and Downtown are LTE all the way. I will be back to Las Vegas soon and see what has changed.
  19. That may be true, but we are talking about perception and how CS handles calls plays a huge issue. Just consider the red light factor. You always hit the stop light at any intersection although you may pass many green lights too. I personally find it anying to have my call to CS in the Phillipiens because their training lacks in so many ways. How can you sell or service a network you never used? In addition, support American jobs, in America so people in this country have jobs and can support their families.
  20. Customer Service remains Sprint's biggest issue. I wanted to add an International Calling feature (unlimited international $15) to my account. Called and was told, Sorry your plan does not qualify for this feature. So I was placed on the $50 iPhone6 plan (plus the feature). Nice, I thought okay if that works fine with me on an Android phone. Next day I get a message, that my plan was updated. Not that I was placed on the correct $60 plan, no I was charged $35 because I am on contract (actually I am not my I bought my phone a long time ago - 30 months). So I called to complain and a Supervisor changed the plan to the $60 Simply Unlimited. So today I get a text message telling me my plan was updated yet again, this time the device charge was $25. Funny, because again I bought the phone and I am no longer on contract. Now I was switched to a Framily plan until I am able to show that my phone (Evo 4GLTE) is out of contract??! Seriously, all I wanted is just another feature added to my account. I am not sure but it takes one call to Verizon to fix an issue and not three times. If Sprint wants to safe money, close the foreign call centers, move jobs into the U.S. and invest some money in better training. This would get the customers happy and cut down on CSR costs!
  21. I drove around Las Vegas last week and I NEVER lost LTE. Drove from Nellis AFB to the M Resort via LV Bvld and no 3G. Even along the Strip, in places a weak signal but sill LTE. Saw B41 a lot and just while driving the core of the Strip, noticed B25. Would not call that a Hotspot coverage.
