Take Two! Sprint offers BYOD for Apple Devices

Will the Verizon iPhone 6Plus support Band 26 or 41? -
10MHz by 10MHz LTE 1900 band

The only spectrum that Dish has that may be of interest is their share in the 1900 Mhz band. The rest is not supported much with exception to AWS-3 -

I'm not sure if T-Mobile would be the perfect partner. Remember Sprint has build it's network with the option to host other companies on their backbone and it could be more difficult for T-mobile to do the same at this point in time -

Dish has currently a subscriber pool which it could use to offer services and I am sure that Dish is looking into mobile broadband solutions, and not compete as full service wireless carrier. Dish can use their current infrastructure to service their customers. Dish wants to push video and I think it sees wireless just as another pipe. I think they could offer a fixed service for video and broadband. -

Sprint has already a lot of spectrum and it would be likely that a merged SprinT-mobile would have to part with some spectrum. Additional assets could also be in play but that would be even more speculation. Dish Network would be the only party that would be interested as AT&T and Verizon are much larger companies and it would be preferrable if a new small company enters the market. Dish would be forced to decide if they like to sell or start to build their own network with their current spectrum assets. -

At the time of the Sprint / Nextel merger, nobody thought about the explosion of mobile data services beyond the use of email. There was no Netflix or other high data intensive service. Alltel was not cheap and yes had coverage but not the customers by number. Back in the days like today, it's all a game of number. I see at the end a Sprint / T-Mobile merger and if Dish get's into the market, some of the combined assets will be spun off to Dish to gain FCC/DOJ approval. -
Has anybody looked at Total Wireless the new America Movil MVNO
orangeblue replied to bigsnake49's topic in General Topics
Wow, that would be an improvement over the current speed on Verizon's LTE network in my area. I am lucky to get 1-2 MB down, and it used to be over 30+MB's -
Damm, and I am enjoying 80F today on the West Coast.

There should be at least one sector because I used to get a good signal at Dorians and that is a couple of miles south of the border. This may have changed but I notced not all the sites have been upgraded yet. Yes Verizon should be good because of 700 Mhz LTE.

Has somebody tested the reach of Sprint's LTE network into Mexico? I remember that most of the Zona Norte (Av Revolution) was covered with Sprint. I guess 1x800 should help for voice but how about data?

Sprint during CES
orangeblue replied to orangeblue's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
I think there was nothing extra installed and B41 speeds went down a little bit during the day but still outperformed the others. I know that the LVCC has a DAS but I am not able to say if Sprint got to upgrade it. What I can tell you is that the average dbm was between -67dbm and -90dbm. -
Sprint during CES
orangeblue replied to orangeblue's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
That is true but Sprint has been bad before NV. Wimax works too and I am getting about 5MB down without any major issues. Sprint's NV has made such an improvement in the network that you're finally able to use it during a major event like CES. -
I have been for the last four days at CES and Sprint has been very good this year. I had Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile available and Sprint was the most reliable network. North Hall: B41 (speeds between 12-30MB down) Central: B25 (2-12MB down) South Hall Upper/Lower: B41 (10-25MB down). Verizon has massive issues and people had signal but could not connect to LTE. I have not seen any XLTE (aws) in Las Vegas so their main band is just congested. AT&T had voice issues and dropped down to Edge several times too. T-Mobile was giving free prepaid sim cards away (I guess they need it to beat Sprint) but their network was okay but speeds was between bad and ok, not very reliable. Personally, Sprint made a lot of improvements and if they continue to tweak and improve it, it will be able to handle much more next year.

Any they should be able to go Dual if they want to? I have seen plenty of Clear Towers in LA that are converted. Along 17th Street into my parts of North Tustin, you can get very fast Wimax service but B41 LTE is not really available. Not sure why they stopped converting because Clearwire convertions are faster as current B41 LTE deployments by Sprint.

Clear Outage (Band 41 LTE)
orangeblue replied to tampaflusa's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
I just noticed over the last couple of deals in San Jose that I am corrected to a strong Clearwire build B41 site but there is no data. Not sure why but it seems to be sporadic. -
I noticed that as well and yes T-Mobile launched LTE quickly and in some terms half ass. Speeds are not consistent and the network does not keep the signal alive as much as Sprint does. It feels like if you had good coverage before LTE, you still get fast speeds but in 1-2 bar areas, speeds drop a lot.

I so hope so because I had a couple of weeks nothing, just 3G after being spoiled with B41 (Clearwire) and now I have to suffer slow speeds on B26 or in other words 80MB vs 4MB now
