  1. I think that number will grow because I have seen more and more B41 sites each time I go. I hope locations like Primm get B41 too because this site handles a lot of traffic on the weekends.
  2. Direct Connect has been killed off from the maps now
  3. I always liked the Clear coverage maps. Large, running on Google Maps, with the tower locations etc. Just nice incl. a nice color to read.
  4. I hope that Sprint is not saving digital color in an effort to bring up profits. Called Sprint about it and the first rep actually told me that San Jose or Las Vegas are only 3G cities. Guess he used the same map I have online. Supervisor had a good laugh when asked if we are no longer LTE worthy , It looks like I was the first to "complain" about the updated maps.
  5. I would like an update on the color scheme too. Purple not a good color
  6. I checked the coverage map this morning for SoCal and noticed that Las Vegas, the small LA suburb to the east, has been wiped off the map in terms of LTE coverage. I guess somebody put the network up in a gamble But seriously, I guess Sprint's updated coverage map, seems to have lost some markets (as of 6:30am PST 10/3)
  7. It would have been nice back in the days to have an iDEN/WiMax/CDMA handset but oh well. Sprint had a huge following cross border and you see how Nextel Mexico is suffering from the shutdown of the U.S. iDen network, Sprint should have offered something to keep these customers happy like SouthernLink. I used to love Nextel, going to TJ and using the PTT back to the states.
  8. Isn't Sprint protected from losing the license during rebanding? How can you deploy a network if the band is still occupied?
  9. As soon the rebanding has been done in SB, people in SB, OC, Riverside and Las Vegas will be able to get B26 LTE
  10. Considering all the Prepaid customers on WiMax, it is still nice to pull 12MB down in Tustin, CA on WiMax. I guess because Visalia is a really old market. I have seen slow speeds in older markets too, Is your market Motorola blessed?
  11. I don't think Sprint will ever deploy 800 in PR because that band frequency is used by a local company which offers a iDEN based service.
  12. You should upgrade to a Spark enabled device and you will see and feel the difference.
  13. I drove through Bakersfield, CA and Verizon on B4 hit 90MB while you hope to get a workable speed in Los Angeles. WiMax is at times faster ;-)
  14. I text all the time while driving but I use voice to text and therefore it is legal. If police would scan my car, yes they would see a text but send the legal way.
  15. I also noticed that more and more you're dropped from LTE on Verizon down to 3G. Cells seem to shrink and their B13 feels more like B25 on Sprint. Yet B4 is real nice but Verizon keeps the deployment out of the mapped view.
  16. I had the pleasure of testing Verizon and Sprint in San Jose this weekend and it seems like Sprint made a huge gain against Verizon. I found many locations were Verizon offered speeds that we have only enjoyed on Sprint for quite some time of 1-2MB while Sprint roars along with 40-70MB on B41 and about 6MB on B25. It would be great to see Sprint edging up in the professional tests but it seems Sprint is on a good way.
  17. It seems like that all calls from Tri-Band phones are being processed by CDMA 800 sites. I always like the small roaming indicator to show up when you make a call. I drove along the 215 beltway North and there is almost full B41 availability. Northern Las Vegas seems to be now all B41 plus I-15 to the airport. Some weak B41 coverage at the airport.
  18. This is not a release model and it seems like the artist doing the rendering got a little bit carried away. karma will use Sprint branded devices and it wouldn't be logical for a small MVNO to release its own hardware.
  19. Nope, unless the new LTE modem is identical to the photon. Even the FP (blue) photon had little white rings around the LED's
  20. I'm not sure because the CEO was bragging how they were able to deliver data cheaper as Verizon and AT&T. I think it was because Clearwire was an all IP based network? Not sure but how much does it actually cost Sprint right now to run the network.
  21. Is there a plan to go from 5x5 to 10x10 channels on the 1900Mhz band? Would it be possible or would Sprint need to run multiple carriers per site?
  22. There used to be a lot of talk during Clearwire's conference calls how cheap they can transfer data to the customer compared to traditional networks. Any numbers on that?
  23. They can intercept everything. Remember, you don't want your stuff known, go off the grid. Wipe your google history frequently and disclose no information online.
