  1. I just noticed that the nice B41 Clear site in Hayward that I started to miss a couple of weeks ago remains still offline and now I get only B26 which is really a downer because speeds are not matching what I am used to get. Why would Sprint shut off a perfectly working B41 site (Clearwire dual site) and leave people stuck on B26 with less speed?
  2. So what is with the older Sprint phones, lets say Wimax handsets? 800 voice was avaolable or just 850?
  3. B41 was great on my last trip to Portland but I had some issues in Hillsboro which I guess will be fixed eventually. B41 seems to be real fast and I was able to get in my Hotel room 70 down on 2 bars.
  4. Go with Freedompop and connect with friends (look for FB groups) and boom 1GB each month free
  5. Seriously AT&T had rollover data back when it was still Cingular and I never used it because I was happy when my data cap was not breached. Unlimited Data on AT&T is now limited so I am expecting T-Mobile to offer this next. Subsequently we have no more contracts with T-Mobile and we are now better prepaid customers that can be moved without any problem off a plan into another plan if the un-carrier decides this to be the case.
  6. That tower must be in a good location because it covers a nice chunk. I checked the coverage map again too and yes it seems like to be one. I always connect to that tower when I fuel at Costco.
  7. Not sure why you would be slow because you should be able to access B41 sites with your phone and stay mostly on LTE and not on 3G anymore.
  8. I hope the network gets fully optimized soon because at times B26 and B41 are not playing nicely together. It will take time but I feel the need for speed :-) Verizon broke today another negative record, 30KB down on LTE!! I thought I was blazing fast on iDen back in the days.
  9. Well Verizon might have issues keeping some of their customers happy because their LTE network is getting slower by the day. Not only do I see phone more and more in 3G rather than 4G because the sites are full, but LTE speeds are down. XLTE seems so spotty and makes look WiMax good in terms of coverage. Btw. I have not found one XTLE site in Las Vegas on my last visit a week ago despite their claim of XLTE coverage
  10. B41 has been up and running in many areas in the city for some time and more and more sites are going online. Las Vegas is a full 8T8R market because the Clearwire equipment wasn't able to handle WiMax and LTE.
  11. The G2 is a nice device and yes it is not without flaws (GPS!). This could be an issue because the G2's GPS sensors seem to be way off and it's not just a Sprint issue, Verizon's version has the same problems. I have been running 2 G2's with full stock but root, and both had the issue with battery drain. As soon I uninstalled the software, battery use went back up to normal specs.
  12. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/t-acquire-mexico-wireless-provider-210000073.html AT&T is looking to create a single network which will cover the U.S. and Mexico. I guess this will be the first again after Nextel shut down and Softbank should get busy in Mexico too. NII is currently cheap and in BK and might offer the perfect fit to recapture lost cross-border traffic.
  13. Sorry, but I used the app on a phone with no additional app just to check if I was right. Stock LG G2 app and ONLY the Pro version installed. Battery lasted only a few hours vs the full day. After removing the app, battery life returned to normal. LG battery stats showed the 73% usage.
  14. I have no problem to be a loyal customer with Sprint but if I have to sign a contract, I want to have something in return. At the moment, there is so much chaos. I wanted to activate a line for six month in addition to the one I already hae, by bringing an old phone back to life. Sprint was unable to help unless I wanted to sign a contract AND I would have paid the higher rate because I am not financing my phone.
  15. The latest version has turned into a real battery leech and I had to install it. Phone was sitting idle on my desk an according to the battery stats, the app was able to leech down 73% of all battery use in just a few hours. LG G2 Stock Rom
  16. San Jose Airport needs something done because you bounce between B25/26 and B41 all the time and nothing is really usable.
  17. Speed is nice but it needs to be reliable and not jump all over the place and TMo still offers these super fast 2G speeds in many areas of California.
  18. I hope so that this will be done soon because it kills my battery. It jumps between B25/B41 all the time even if the phone is stationary on my desk
  19. I noticed this too but on my LG G2. Clearwire LTE builds are now being identified as B25. The app is showing 8T8R sites correctly as B41 although it would have been nicer to get a better site band label
  20. Since Sprint is currently deploying 8T8R sites, will this mean the end for the current WiMax/LTE dual sites? I noticed that some Clearwire sites are offline in the Bay Area(LTE only) or have these sites been given a Sprint own network ID?
