  1. I think Las Vegas will be one of the first true Sprint NV2.0 markets because there is no Clearwire conversion done at all like in my home market
  2. So you are telling me that a level 2 tech can't see any LTE outages? That would be more as strange. I wish they would bring these jobs home because people here need to work and if you have dealt with an Indian or Fillipino call center you know the pain. They repeat everything four times and get nothing done. I needed to switch out a defective handset and the foreign call center was unable to get it done and wasted 50 minutes. CSR in the states did the same job in two minutes and made me very happy.
  3. I know Vegas is no officially launched but they can still see at tech-support what is going on. Level 2 support seems to be able to address the issues unless you get one of these foreign callcenters. I hope the FCC forces Sprint to bring all foreign CSR poitions back home when they merge with T-Mo
  4. SD county is a work in progress but as soon you get into North OC and LA, you are in heaven
  5. I think Clearwire is currently much faster converting their Wimax sites to LTE as Sprint with their normal NV in the Bay Area
  6. They do if they look but honestly their CSR are just not ready for prime time.
  7. That is really Sprint's issue, because they set the bar so low that it is pretty much impossible to have good people in CS. I called this morning again and I was told there is no LTE in Las Vegas at all. I told the rep that my phone must be broken because I am unable to get 3G on my display and that LTE was on with like no usuable speed, I was advised to powercycle my phone because it must have been defective. Seriously, I asked for a supervisor because I don't have the time to waste. Thank goodness I will be back hom in SoCal tonight, were LTE works
  8. Not sure what Sprint is doing but I called Sprint Care and honestly I am surprised what type of people work for Sprint. 1. The rep. tries to tell me that there is no LTE in Las Vegas because she "looked" at the coverage maps. Seriously, no LTE, I guess my phone must connect to Wimax, oops. the G2 can't connect to Wimax... 2. Rep. tries to tell me that the speeds of .02MB in an area I was able to get 30+MB down just a couple of weeks ago are normal LTE speed. Seriously, if you call AT&T or Verizon, you get people who know what is going on. Even Clearwire's technical support back in the days (not the foreign based call centers) did a much better job. Sprint needs to do more than just working on it's network, they need to proviode trainning to their people.
  9. I am in town for EDC and some of the B41 sites that were active are currently not in service. Not sure if Sprint turned off the sites for EDC but it would be stupid because 400k people are at the Motor Speedway and I am sure a couple have Sprint service. B25 speeds are like the 3G speeds I have never seen and don't really deserve the name 4G LTE. When WiMax is faster as your LTE network, you are in trouble.
  10. That seems to mess up the LG G2's LTE connectivity.
  11. B41 will not activate right away but you need to stay in a cell for a while it switches over. Not sure why it takes a while but I would love to get connected to B41 first and not B25
  12. Tustin has pretty good Sprint service as long you are not at Legacy or Tustin Ranch.
  13. There is a large NIMBY movement in OC, especially in southern OC. Everybody wants their phone to work but please don't put a tower into my neighborhood. Areas like Santa Ana have all the services because poor people don't have the time to complain about another tower. People should be happy because MetroPCS's CDMA network is going away and there is one less evil company with phone ray's poluting the air (-:
  14. What I have seen on active B41 sites is that the signal is much stronger and I was able to stay for hours on that site.
  15. Look at your LTE engineering screen and you see the PLMN ID which was for the B25/B41 I found always 310 120 (Las Vegas). Now 310 120 is also being used in my home market of Los Angeles for B25 which was build by Sprint. Los Angeles is on of these markets that had Clearwire's Wimax network running and Clearwire converted their site (not all of them) to B41 and their PLMN ID is 310 490, You can also see this in the current version of SignalCheckPro (Android App) which will ID the Clearwire LTE sites as Sprint B41. The app can't do this yet for Sprint's B41 sites.
  16. Correct, and for what ever reason Clear build sites produce twice the speed. I have been on B41 sites build by Clear in SoCal and NoCal and speeds hoover around 50-60MB down and 10MB up while Sprint's NV2.0 B41 sites seems to be capped at around 35-38MB down and 8MB up. This was direct next to the tower. So since it is possible to run both Wimax and LTE on the same spectrum (since they have a lot to play with) I'm surprised to see the differences in speed. In addition, I had dinner at the good old Queen Mary yesterday and they have a Clearwire site on the ship facing the harber. Not converted yet to LTE but a real odd location.
  17. I have noticed that most Sprint B41 cells are max. out around 30-38MB down while Clear builds are much faster at around 50-60MB down. Has anybody seen the same issue and why could there be the difference in speed?
  18. Nobody noticed that Republic Wireless was ranked No. 2, which happens to be a Sprint MVNO. Okay you offload a lot to Wifi but still WTF.
  19. I think it is nice because it makes it so much easier to spot a NV2.0 tower. Red cone and RUU's behind the panels = B41 site.
  20. Here is actually a fun part. I look at Google Streetview and you can actually see the crew installing the NV 1.0 9901-9907 Ione Rd Las Vegas, NV 89183
  21. That seems to be the standard of B41 installations when Sprint is doing the job. I called Sprint today and asked about some of the towers that I have seen and most of them are scheduled for B41 launch at the end of this month.
  22. This tower is a Sprint / Clearwire Co-Lo. This is not a Clearwire LTE convertion and Sprint mounted their own B41 equipment.
  23. There is an LTE site directly next to the property and yes you get LTE. Coverage as improved from my last trip to Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. IDK how people can exist in Vegas but I am happy to be back in SoCal.
