  1. They will probably give out a zagg invisible shield out to cover the back and sides. I have mixed feelings about scuffgate. 1st stuff scratch, it's a face of life. Plastic scratches, metal, etc. Also, I have only seen one video of scuffs that happened in normal light abuse, which was ifixit. The zagg video needed a dremel to show the scuffs, and they threw rocks and bolts at the thing. Another video had a dude making chopping motions on the back with no affect. Only when he actually stabbed the device did it cause chipping.
  2. Good to see the sprint LTE sim. I hope future phones as removable sprint sims.
  3. Is the sim card in the phone a sprint sim? I know on previous phones that sprint used embedded sims, but I am wondering if this is actually the first phone where sprint is not using embedded sim for their LTE.
  4. I think many knew the black would have scratch problems. The One S had the same problem. I do not think it will be a problem for most, since they will put either a Zagg type protector or case around the phone.
  5. The iPhone battery is supposedly on par with the Droid razr maxx with LTE on. According to engadget, the iPhone lasted 11:14mins on their video loop test, while the Evo LTE was 8:50 and the GS3 was 9:02. All respectable times, but the iPhone seems to win the battery contest. Kinda makes me wish they made the phone wider or kept the same thickness, so they could add more battery to the phone. If the iPhone can do 11+hrs on a 1434 mAh battery, I would love to see what it could do with a battery like the GS3 or Droid Razr Maxx HD.
  6. The video is full of lies. only sprint has bad 3g speeds. This cannot be. Wow those speeds have slowed down A LOT. I remember when thunderbolt owners were hollering that they have 40Mbps download speeds. Those download speeds are right around what I got my ATT iPhone 4S and Tmobile Mytouch 4G/G2.
  7. It is only on the iPad. But you are correct, Apple will release a redesigned clock app for the ipad in the next few days if the cost is not ridiculous.
  8. It might be counter intuitive, but the worse place is the apple store. I got my 3GS and iPad 3 at launch, and the apple stores were packed for days. I got my 3GS at an att store, and I was in and out by 8:30. Only like 3 people were ahead of me. Later that day I went to get a case for my device, and the apple store was packed. I could not even get into the store. For my iPad 3, I actually got it at Sams Club of all places. Got to sams club at 8:56, and was the second person in line for the iPad. was out by 9:05, and I even got it 10bucks cheaper than the apple store. Best bet it to think outside the box a little at a place people would not normally go to for those devices. Everyone wants that "apple experience", so Apple store is going to get packed early. I would not even try.
  9. THERE SHE BLOWS!! http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/20/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-for-sprint-hands-on/
  10. SouthernLinc could become a Sprint Rural Alliance Member or Sprint Partner. Sprint would probably give them access to the rest of the SMR800 and 1900mhz. They would be able to offer better phones and have nationwide coverage. However, I feel like the more likely scenario is that they sell the spectrum/towers to sprint for cash and cheaper service.
  11. I feel like AJ plan of incentivizing people would work best. Maybe a 1gb or 2gb limit for 10-5 dollars off your bill. I think a lot of people would start to offload if they could save money.
  12. As others have mentioned, TEP is not worth the price anymore. 11bucks a month is 132 dollars a year, which will cover the AppleCare + and most of your 50 dollar deductible. The 11/month does not include your deductible, which I believe is more than double apples deductible.
  13. TEP does not cover iPhones. If you want insurance then your options are best buy, third party like square trade or AppleCare+.
  14. No one is telling you to never use your sprint data. What people are advocating is offloading when you have the ability, so others can use the shared resource. I do not think anyone here wants to lose unlimited data, and people abusing the network will make that happen sooner than necessary. Whole reason ATT went to tier data was to get heavy users to pay their fair share. If you are okay with that model, then ATT/Verizon/Tmobile would be more than happy to have you, however if you like the ability to not worry how much data you are using, then being responsible and not "abusing" is not unreasonable. I am currently an ATT customer, who is on a tier data plan, that hates having to basically control myself when it comes to using my phone, so I do not go over my data limit. I used to think like you, but moving to tiered data sobered me up from that thinking real quick. It sucks, when you gotta refrain from downloading an app or listening to pandora for fear of getting hit with outrageous data overages. I do not believe anyone here it trying to attack you for your views, and only want to show you why that way of thinking is not the best, if you want to keep your unlimited data. Also if you feel sprint is forcing a data plan on you, then why not get a 7in tablet or the Galaxy Player or iPod Touch. All the functionality of a Phone without the Data plan.
  15. I am definitely on sprint side with this. I thought Dish was going to be building out soon, but when I heard the 2016 date, I started to question if they actually wanted to even build out or was it a ploy to get att/verizon to buy out their spectrum. Either way, Sprint and others could use that H-block spectrum now, so I believe they should get priority in this case.
  16. I think you are trying to read between the lines, when nothing is there. Switching to 16:9 does make better presentation for HD content. They never said it actually played content in HD and the HD facetime comes from the fact that the front facing camera now records in 720p. It seems like Miram reviewed the Evo, while Tim reviewed the iPhone. They probably have different opinions, so you cannot fault them for that, plus the iPhone two tone does look better than the Evo's two tone back, and I dislike the two tone look on both. The iPhone volume up button functions as a camera shutter, so they are not bias in that regard. And on your battery comment, Gizmodo and Theverge said it was poor. http://gizmodo.com/5910015/htc-evo-4g-lte-lightning-review-the-phone-that-would-be-king-but-isnt http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/11/3012990/htc-evo-4g-lte-review In Engadget standard test they got 11+hrs. the 14hrs came from their personal usage, which just like yours, is anecdotal. Also are you sure it was a GSM iPhone? The phones show Verizon as the carrier, and in the paragraph below the battery review, they say that they have a Verizon iPhone. I think you need to get your "I Heart Android" panties out of a wad and relax. It is just a review. The opinion of some blogger.
  17. To get unlimited data on tmobile, you need a value or classic plan, which needs a 2 year agreement.
  18. One thing I have been thinking about is the possibility of roaming on verizon LTE network. Now that would be huge.
  19. That is exactly how I feel about NFC, but muffin brought up a good point with the NFC tags, where you can customize it to do things like turn volume on high when your put it on your nightstand for alarm. I do not think I will ever use my phone as a payment system. I am too afraid of the system getting hacked and my info getting posted.
  20. AJ confirmed that it will support sprint's 800mhz band. That has me a little excited that it came to the iPhone. I think this could me we will see the iPhone 6 have LTE800. I am glad I was wrong on 800 support.
  21. I have only see band class 26 for LTE, which is SMR+cellular. this PDF from 3gpp2 does not show a CDMA band class 26. http://www.3gpp2.org/public_html/specs/C.S0057-0_v1.0_020904.pdf
  22. That is probably referring to CDMA850. Apple calls CDMA on 850mhz CDMA800. we will need to see the band classes, but them no separating the two, and using CDMA 800, 850,1900,2100 makes me believe SMR did not make the cut this year.
  23. I always thought apple used 800 to mean CDMA 850. SMR support would be huge. If it supports SMR on CDMA, then why not support it on lte. Band class 26(I think) includes SMR and 850.
