  1. I wonder why they did not just wait until after softbank deal became finalized and just bought out USCC. Good to see they increased their spectrum holdings.
  2. I wish they made an EVO 5, or made the One X 5 with a dedicated camera button for Sprint.
  3. I hope sprint buys them out just to shut them up. Sprint is the one keeping the lights on at the clearwire corp. I cannot wait until sprint reabsorbs clearwire so we do not have to deal with mess like this.
  4. Sprint does not have enough 800 to do a 10x10 on it. It will likely aggregate one 5x5 on 800 with one on 1900 to get 10x10. If the tower is broadcasting the frequencies required, then they only need to add the proper channels to the cabinet. But I think that was the plan prior to softbank deal. I wouldn't be surprised if the new deal is 20mhz TD LTE on all the urban/suburban towers for 70+Mbps speeds using clearwire's spectrum. Son talked about Americans having slow Internet speeds.
  5. Tmobile does now. You have to be on prepaid to not have a contract. Value plan comes with 2 year agreement with 200 dollar etf. Also I believe they reset your contract when you change your plan. That is what happened to me when I had a contract family plan in 2008.
  6. I may be mistaken, but I believe sprint makes you sign a two year agreement when you sign up with their service, even of you buy your phone contract free. But supposedly you still are eligible for a phone subsidy
  7. You gotta look beyond the surface, but the numbers are promising. just last year the recapture rate was 27%, and now we have had two quarters of 59 and 60%. The Sprint brand has gone from 46.3 million subs to 52.8 million subs in a year. The nextel platform really messes up their numbers, but I can understand not just dropping all of them at once. 60% recapture rate is very enticing, and I believe it could become even higher as network vision progresses.
  8. I kinda wish they would just rip the band aid off and shut it down, but I can understand why they are waiting. 60% recapture rate is pretty good reason to not force them off.
  9. Some good news and some bad. One thing I did notice is that they say they have almost 4,300 sites live, while Robert's info has less. That is a pretty big amount of sites missing.
  10. Not a fan of the new pricing. I am glad they are sticking it to ATT/Verizon with pricing, but I do not believe they did enough to make customers switch. I also like the idea of giving customers a discount when they add a tablet to their plan. Tmobile seems to have better pricing than sprint. Maybe it will change once network vision is more mature.
  11. Tablet unlimited data is dead. I doubt it ever comes back. The network cannot handle those devices being unlimited. Their current rate for tablets is 3Gb for 34.99. I could see them lowering it to match the pricing of ATT/Verizon or even create a cheaper data plan.
  12. 130 for LTE/Cellular is outrageous. I honestly doubt you would recoup the loss over a two year period, let alone every upgrade.
  13. No thanks. Buying Tmobile would be horrible.
  14. Hmmm, at 200 more( with trade in), I could see myself making the jump. But I will likely wait for surface pro reviews. With the keyboard cover, I could see myself doing light productivity
  15. As an iPad 3 owner, the only thing that really appeals to me is the lighting connector. I basically only web surf, read books/magazines, and watch video. Nothing graphic intensive to warrant the extra power. Also, I am more interested in the surface pro than the iPads at this point. Tablet with pc power/ capabilities is what I wanted the original iPad to be.
  16. I think that money will more than likely go to acquisitions. Sprint is already ramping up NV. Just look at how many smaller markets have already started work.
  17. Tmobile exCEO Philip Humm said Tmobile was going to pass Sprint and we know how his reign turned out.
  18. If Verizon or ATT tried to buy Clearwire, I believe it would be free breakup fee money. I really do not think either would get FCC clearance to buy clearwire. Tmobile could, but I doubt DT wants to fork over that kind of money.
  19. Clearwire's stock dropped .46 cents(17.10%). This is probably exactly what sprint wants. Let the stock drop a little more, and sprint will scoop them up on the cheap.
  20. I believe people really underrate Clearwire's spectrum, because of their poor tower placement. Clearwire fudged up their rollout. It is really not as bad as people make it out to be. according to this graph I found on building propagation of the Major US spectrum frequencies. PCS is only 1.3x better than clearwire's spectrum. Also I prefer more spectrum on a higher band, so the lower band can be used strictly for coverage.
  21. Clearwire got bloated after the news that SoftBank was interested in Sprint. I believe they jumped up 70% the day the story broke. I believe the price of the stock was just 1.30 a few days ago. Sprint will probably wait til the price goes back down before swallowing them up. Son mentioned horrible Speed in his presentation. I believe Clearwire will be their key to giving users ultra fast speeds. If the go with the original plan of having Clearwire on every tower, Sprint would be able to deliver 60-90Mbps with unlimited data. They would truly shake up the wireless industry with those speeds. I believe the main reason sprint made this deal was to get some funding to be ready for some consolidation. I believe Sprint thought that the consolidation would start in 2013 when they would be more prepared(iDEN would be shut down), but DT bought Metro now. Sprint has to get some capital to grab a player or two. They will not want ATT or Tmobile to grab the other regional guys.
  22. I wonder if SoftBank also invested in sprint for their ability to turn around their network and customer service. Seems like a lot of comments on theverge/Engadget say they have a pretty poor network and horrible customer service. SoftBank has a couple different networks, which it probably wants to consolidate.
  23. AJ did mention that not all of Clearwire's spectrum would count against Sprint's spectrum screen. He mentioned that only 55.5Mhz would actually count against sprint. Probably because a lot of the spectrum is leased from universities.
  24. ATT/Verizon better watch their backs. Sprint is ready to gun for them. I am pumped about New Sprint.
