Niceee, I just switched band 25 to 0 and while at home with the Spark update, I am now getting over 15mbps on avg while it used to be ~2mbps...

I get the feeling my battery will suffer but I'm leaving it this way for now...

LTE Band Priorities: 26:1 41:2 25:3... I'm in Manhattan...

NYC Manhattan? and can you throw up an enginneering screen so we can verify what band your connected to.

Oh I know that I thought it was some different root you was talking about. The problem is it only allows update from external sd and there is no internal sd option at all.

Root folder just means the very base location. For example, the root of your hard drive of a PC is C:/.

I believe the root of your internal storage is /sdcard.

Well, that doesn't make sense for LG to program the update.zip that way because the device itself doesn't have an external SD slot.  But, for some reason LG tends to call its internal storage /sdcard.  This is what confuses people to no end. lol

You copied the update.zip and placed it on your device's internal storage, then rebooted into recovery (holding Vol down+Power while device is off) then attempting the update?

How do I get to the engineering screen to show what let band I'm on? Also will it show if I'm on 800 voice on another page?

##DEBUG#

or

##DIAG#

Pretty sure it's Debug, though.

It'll only show 1x connection if you're on 3G.  LTE has it's own radio path so it doesn't have an active 1x connection until you get a call or you fall back onto EvDo.

Yes the update is there but is not recognized by recovery

I thought there use to be a way to force a ota?

It was usually done by clearing data from Google Framework Services, but I heard from some Google Dev that it's not good to do that.

Found the article: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/11/20/google-engineer-dan-morrill-sheds-some-light-on-the-nexus-ota-process-urges-you-to-never-clear-google-service-framework-data/

PSA:  If you care about rooting or flashing custom ROMS, do not take the ZVA firmware OTA at the moment.  Root is currently broken and you are not able to flash a custom recovery like TWRP.  LG has added a new aboot file and it is affecting the loki exploit.  The devs are trying to work on a workaround this issue.

EDIT:  Root has been restored with ioroot v21.  You can find ioroot v21 here

On second thought, it may be better I don't have it yet. I don't think I'd be able to give up root for ZVA although I'd probably have flashed to stock just to get it today. Lol

I get Band 41 here (From Engr screen)... Falls back to band 25 though.

I tried taking a screenshot of LTE Engr but I'm not getting anywhere... What's the best way? Volume up + power not working.

Agreed.  For the time being, I am holding off.  However the ZVA modem file is available for people to flash in TWRP.  I will give that a shot.

I believe its Volume down+power, are you in NYC?

It is volume down+power. Try not to hit the volume button first cause that will register.

Here you go... Thanks for the screenshot sequence...

Another way to screenshot is to hold home then while holding slide up and to the right and when on the quick memo release finger then save at top right for screen. Much easier that power and volume.

I just use my pointer finger to hold down both at the same time.  It doesn't get much easier than that imo.
