Still no n2 or n25 either. Really surprised on that one since they've publicly shown tests results using an S22 and n25+n41+n41. To me it kind of takes away from the validity of that test since they used some sort of custom firmware, makes you wonder what else they might have modified. Its not really a "stock" device at that point.

On many Samsung phones, the unlocked phone has far more bands available (at least with the s2 ultra and a52 5G).

Nothing yet in that regard here for the unlocked variant unfortunately (posting for those who might have one vs Tmo centric)

August update finally arrived for S22+ unlocked tonight 👍

Wonder why he is seeing extra entries in the service menu that we are not?

Maybe he is rooted? That being said, I've seen a number of random new entries in the*#0011#, basically enumerating the TX/RX signal strength for all of the carriers but the values make no sense (in the 800s). I haven't been able figure out what triggers it to appear but it isn't always there

Playing off @clbowens mention in the S21 thread of another August update, I just checked on my unlocked S22+ and in our case the September update appeared available.   All three versions showing end in '2AVHL' and in my case its a 339.21MB patch.

Just checked my T-Mobile and AT&T phone and both still say up to date with August update for now. I'm hoping T-Mobile enables n25 finally this month but not holding my breath.

Unlocked has had n25 for a while (at least the s21 ultra)

Just installed the September update on my S-22.  STILL no n-25 showing in the *#2263# NR5G band preference menu. bands 2, 4 & 12 are not there either but 66 is.  Using the TM version of the S-22.

Thats funny, my S22 on the android 13 beta is still saying up to date with August update.

Seeing reports that the iPhone 14 is much faster on 5G than the iPhone 13.  But the upgrade is the same modem wise as the S21 > S22.  Does the iPhone 14 use CA more than the S22 does?

I have read several anecdotal reports that there is some sort of issue with the S22 and the modem. People have mentioned that they get notably and consistently faster speeds on eSIM compared to physical SIM. I know on my phone I have never been able to break 1.0Gbps yet, whereas others HAVE been able to on the same site. I am considering trying switching to eSIM and see if what has been reported is true.

Does anyone have an S22 on AT&T using esim? I've tried looking up how to switch but the directions I've found online my AT&T account doesn't have the option to request esim. Was hoping to avoid a store visit. For T-Mobile it was a very quick and easy process.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — — The old permit expired for this site without any work being done but a new permit was just approved a few days ago for a T-Mobile site at this address. Description mentions 3 antennas with 2 RRUs per sector. My guess is they're doing something similar to what they did at 360 Furman St in Brooklyn where they broadcast Band 2/66 and n25/41 from one antenna. It's a bit of a downgrade considering the site it's replacing was a full build with Ericsson 6449s.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
