Sprints 'Happy Connecting' Event

I think they are going to announce the "completion" of network vision. Remember sprint announced network vision and lte will be deployed to 250 million by mid year. June 23 is technically mid year.

In other words I'm not expecting anything new or surprising

Hd voice and the completion of the 3g build would be my guess.

That.

Plus; voice improvements on 800, a mention of LTE live on 2/3rds of NV 1.0 site covering a pop. of x#, Spark coverage already for y#,and NV 2.0 is rolling out (as planned?).

Yeah I saw this earlier today but the most amusing part to me is the fact that, predictably, the CNET comments are laden with anti Sprint propaganda/rampant ranting. Honestly... there aren't many areas untouched by at least nv 1.0 so..why are they hating so very hard? Is there any validity to their diarrhea-at-the-mouth word vomit?

Will the "Happy Connecting" event include a "happy ending"?

A press event to announce NV "completion" would be a terrible idea. For current customers and potential new customers that aren't in completed areas it would be very irritating to see a grand announcement while they still have not seen the NV love.

That cost extra....

Ah, geez, is this the "4G fee" again?  I can just see it now.  I will be paying the extra $10 and told I will get a happy ending this summer.  But next year, I will still be waiting.

You did get the fractured speech pattern right, though.  "You want happy ending?  That cost extra.  Me love you long time."

Prior to thr announcing of the spotify relationship, some thought that would be about HD voice. Perhaps hd voice across majority of network and more cities "launched" since launch and completion have nothing in common. And of course, the promise of a happy ending lol

Screw 'em. I'll boot 'em in the ass on the way out the door if they want to leave Sprint. They would complain no matter what...Magenta's poor coverage, Big Red's pricing, Deathstars' megalomania. Quite humorous if you ask me. They might be the first ones to crawl back to Sprint in a year when their perfect world is an unrealized fantasy. My coworker left AT&T for T-Mobile a month ago. I tried to convince her to sign up with Sprint (I get magnificent CDMA1x 800 voice coverage deep inside the building and LTE from the ground floor up). She had no service with AT&T. She still has no service with T-Mobile. Smack dab in the middle of the Sunset Strip. The local tower is even Sprint/T-Mobile shared. Go figure.

I agree, which reminds me of this old pic.

I also feel that most will return as well. anyway, lets get back to the topic at hand.

Anyone else have ideas of what it can be about. The HD Voice seems to be the most logical one so far.

If the "T" in T-Mobile stands for "taco," I would not mind a "merger" with the Pink Taco.

I have a feeling we may hear something about the merger. They may "officially" announce it to the public. I also think they will give performance numbers of their network and where they are on the upgrade process.

Slightly off topic, but I had the same experience when I tried my t-mobile prepaid SIM in the N5 while in my basement. T-mobile was nonexistent as I expect, but sprint was able to maintain 1x 1900 connection. Sprint and t-mobile share the same tower for the one that services my home.

    • Mapped two n41 small cell sin Jersey City today. They're the first two to be mapped there in Jersey City as far as I can tell and interestingly they're consecutive gNBs, possibly indicating they were installed around the same time. gNB 1088335 appears to be an upgrade of an older small cell. It looks identical to the T-Mobile n41 small cell I mapped earlier this year in Old Westbury.   I also mapped gNB 1088334 in Newport. This small cell appears to be a new build as I couldn't find any evidence of an older small cell in that area. Unfortunately no pic of it since I didn't even notice that I mapped it until I got home and I can't find it in Streetview.
    • Someone told me a couple years ago, that there were problems getting certain modems to aggregate overlapping spectrum even if the overlapping parts were actually blanked. So I think there might be firmware issues that need to be resolved first, which T-Mobile might not consider worth the effort for 4MHz at this time.
    • Tbh not that surprising. Every ISP seems to want to have an MVNO to pitch to their customers to make them stickier and maybe make some money in the process. And unlike USCC the MVNO should be able to cover TDS's entire wireline area, with infrastructure costs that are borne by someone else. Entertaining, yes. Surprising, not really...particularly when competing against Comcast or Spectrum, or even eventually T-Mobile fixed + mobile. This also strengthens my bet that they'll rebrand all their fixed wireless stuff as TDS, as that runs on spectrum they're keeping for now.
    • No? RCS on Google messages works great for me, messages between anyone with RCS enabled go through with no problems. Don't remember the last time I had an issue. I only have issues with people on iPhones on different carriers from T-Mobile.
    • Has anyone experienced a ridiculous amount of difficulty with Google messages with RCS enabled?  It has been a train wreck for me for the past year so I now use WhatsApp.  That works very well for all of us.... Android and iOS.
