Have you toggled airplane mode rather than the mobile data switch?

I try to avoid that, as it guarantees the eHRPD cycle and resulting loss of days for a minute or so. I'll toggle Airplane Mode if I'm desperate, though.

Toggling mobile data doesn't force a full radio scan, so it does not guarantee that your phone will look for LTE when you toggle it back on. Doing an airplan toggle forces a full scan.

So I might sound dumb for asking this but why does ePHRD not work for us? I have honestly never kept up on how EVDO works, I know the basics but nothing more

Well, I now have LTE at my desk for the first time. Pretty good signal, but download was only about 1 Mbps. Couldn't get upload speed doe to “network communication issues" X 2

I just spotted band 41 for the first time on my Sprint phone. Over where CFA institute moved into the old MJH. The speeds were pretty good actually

Shentel is a Sprint Affiliate who works with Sprint.  Their wireless is branded as Sprint.

nTelos was more of a MVNO utilizing Sprint elsewhere and allowing Sprint to sometimes roam on their network.  nTelos also saw Sprint as a competitor.

We are in a likely transition period, so anything between those options is now possible.

Where Lumos provides the backhaul you can't get anything better than their DSL offerings on LTE....6 down 1 up....they are largely in fiber but I think they are trying to preserve bandwidth, reckoning we mobile users would suck up the bandwidth they give to their overcharged fiber TV and Internet service. And it is said to be awful spotty itself. We live in a backwater of connectivity if we can't get Comcrap or Cox in. My neighborhood is due to be absorbed into the Town limits, and then I will be able to choose either Comcrap OR Lumos fiber.....I will take the Comcrap deal....I've had their internet service before, it's decent, reliable and certainly faster than DSL. And since we have a local office, we can actually get answers!

Ok, question guys...

What would cause my phone to roam, example: just tried to make a call, said "you are currently roaming, please press 1 to make a collect call".

I'm so fed up at this point....

Well, you know you roam when your phone cannot find a home signal, but if it signs onto the network and the roaming indicator is on, you should not be prompted for a collect call! Even if they want to charge extra they just automatically throw it on our bill. You could have been roaming on a system we have no agreement with, but it still would have automatcally put any extra charge directly on your bill....for if it can figure out who you belong to, it can figure out how to bill you too! But I don't think we can even get service on a non agreement network....my phone can look at GSM, but it can't find any networks domestically because Sprint doesn't have any roaming deals with any around here. And it will always prefer to roam on USCellular over Verizon in my area.....Verizon is it's last resort choice.

All the way from Ashland to Barboursville has LTE for Sprint. Only Ashland KY for Boost.

Huntington and Barboursville WV will not have Boost service until the changeover.

Started running some speed tests this morning and for the first time at my house (lynchburg) I am pulling down 6-7 down and 2-3 up :-).

Another site, or possibly more, must have gone live. :2tu:

But it appears that it is now back to the .5ish up speeds of a few weeks ago. Something was being tested..:-) But it gives me hope for the future.
