What wireless carriers do Sprint employees use?

Are you trolling for an argument? I've never seen a sprint employee with a non-Sprint device.

 

I had a SideKick for a year or two after originally working for Nextel. Switched it to a Nextel BlackBerry eventually.

I had co-workers who had VZW but that was in non-Sprint areas. That was on the long haul fiber side though.

They get unlimited everything for free......why wouldn't they have Sprint. They only pay for tep or hotspot but get a 25% discount on add on features like those. 3rd party employees get unlimited data and text with 3000 mins for 30 which also is a kick ass deal. When I worked at a 3rd party I also had free unlimited hotspot on my 3rd party employees plan.

I worked at a preferred retailer from 2010-12 and everyone I know had the same plan. Maybe only preferred retailers get that. I know it still exist because I've seen people on these plans come in to my current store.

When I was at a 3rd party store, the owner would give us a non top selling phone for free but he would keep the rebate. He would only do it if you had an upgrade/new line. That bastard never gave me a discount on anything and tried accusing me of sabotaging their camera system just because I install them for a living at my main job. I was so happy when I left there.

I have seen a mix at the stores. Most use Sprint since I figured they got it for dog cheap.. A few have had ATT when I saw their phones.

I thought you were the only Sprint customer in BTR? :hee:

I have seen a mix at the stores. Most use Sprint since I figured they got it for dog cheap.. A few have had ATT when I saw their phones.

 

They get their phones for free according to a conversation I had with some of the employees at Sprint's San Diego busiest store. Some employees does have Verizon because they are part of a shared plan of someone else's account where they don't want to be paying ton of money for their own plan.  Other than that, free phone, discounted plan.

I heard Dan Hesse uses cricket... hehe! No but i bet all the top board people and high corp people use sprint first they can afford any roaming anyways, plus it would be embarrassing to sprint if they were caught rocking a different carriers logo!

Employees pay for their phones every 20 month, usually it's the same price as consumers, sometimes there is a discount like when the ONE launched it was 150 with and upgrade. Employees can only get a discounted price every 20 months like a normal customer.

 

The free phones employees get are part of the advocate program where each store gets a phone model to train on. After a month the "advocate" employee who is suppose to be the expert gets the to keep that phone. For a example I got the HTC ONE and my friend got the galaxy 4 phone. Most of the high end phones get an advocate except the iPhone's. Here is the phones I recall seeing get an advocate over the last year.

Evo lte

I think there are like 5..and then we have bigzeto across the street with 3 devices sucking the life out of the LTE spectrum at lunch time. ;)

I think any employee using another carrier's service needs to get their head examined, especially with the options available for them.

I knew of a lady who worked at Verizon and had Sprint plus a Verizon phone, lol.

Fyi remote techs who don't work in  overlapping coverage areas wouldn't have service if the primary carrier they worked for, site was down and they  where say working on it... so...it's advantageous to have another carrier's phone in your truck..

Everyone I've seen with an @sprint.com email address has an "advocate device" and is given one for free. It was the LG Optimus G, now the Samsung Galaxy S4.

 

For store reps, I've seen a few with other carriers, usually because of being in-contract on a family plan.

No, not really. You do understand that many people are locked into contracts, or prefer to be in a familly plan right?

 

Id say a minority of the employees of the people you speak to at the call centers have Sprint, especially since most are outsourced.

 

Someone please correct me if Im wrong, but I recall those employees only getting a 9% discount off plans....which is actually one of the lowest corporate discount rates. If they have a family member getting, say, 20% off elsewhere, why not be part of that familly plan?

This is a valid question for before NV is finished. Sure the top brass can have the network give their phones top priority so they can have all the 1.4 Mbps the T1 can provide but for the average employee, if they care about data and if the ping test doesn't even start, then so what if it's free? 

 

After NV is finished is a different story.

outsourced /= corporate employee

 

while I agree that the retail channel may have folks with existing contracts, it would probably in their best interest to sign up for an employee plan if possible.

LOL, I seriously doubt the top brass has devices with higher network priority. 

 

Also, as an employee, I would never give up my service just because data doesn't work in one particular spot.
