Pretty sure there is a wimax site in or near willmar.

There isn't. I wish though. If you could find out if there actually is somewhere near us that would be awesome!

Actually you are right there is an expedience site on that tall apt building.

We canceled that substantial service site since we already broadcast on the freq in the zone..

I'm surprised I haven't seen anything in the Burnsville area, especially where 35 and 35 turn into 35. Those are very high traffic areas. Perhaps the city or backhaul is holding them back?

Seems like the south metro is getting the shaft. Been really cold so I don't fault them. Hopefully though they have been able to break through the south metro permit thick headed skulls. Supposed to warm up and will hopefully see more progress south on 35 out of eagan to the Burnsville 35e/35w split.

So far Eagan and inver Grove heights are the only south metro late to pop up. Chump change compared to the north. And I have yet to get an lte signal there. Can't even get one around the Airport.

To be fair, it seems like the towers done in the north have had very little downtilt and eager mappers. We're only talking about a handful of towers difference.

Honestly I would have mapped the entire south metro right now had my device been capable of it.

If I could get a Galaxy SIII cheap and some kind of sprint sIm to use with it without accruing additional cellular charges I'd do it.

I did get a signal near the airport the day before yesterday but MophoManners believes it was slop coming from Highland Park in St. Paul and I believe he is correct because it wasn't anything I could stay connected to for very long.

However, lack of current LTE in the south metro doesn't mean that there isn't LTE being prepared in the south. There have been sightings of equipment necessary for LTE at south metro sites and/or seemingly sites "ready to go" but no LTE. Yet.

I think I am going to quit sprint if we don't get LTE soon. My contract is almost up and AT&T have LTE T-Mobile has HSPA+ and verizon has LTE, they seem more worth it. Maybe even straight talk.

Worth it until you go over your data allotment.

The Minnesota market is being deployed now. If it doesn't meet your needs, then you should go. Really.

I look at it this way, What works for you? What is better for your set up.

My opinion, has Sprint dropped the ball with "4G" technology, for sure (wimax now LTE and slooooow LTE roll out) I am still close to leaving with all the dropped calls my wife and I have but I look at it like this, my friends all have something else besides Sprint and they ALL have their faults. I have looked into options like Straight Talk and the like but the phones they offer are crap (I prefer high-end android) and with Sprint it's still unlimited data .... when I use it (usually on wi-fi cuz 3G sucks in Rochester)

But with the places I have been where there is LTE the calls have been perfect (and great signal WHEN it connects) and full bars while in those areas. I am hoping to get LTE in my house now within the next month (it's about five blocks away) so after the full LTE roll out I will make a decision then.

But good luck in whatever you choose and I understand your frustration!

Interesting. I've NEVER gotten a dropped call on Sprint and I can't count the number of times I got dropped calls on AT&T.

That being said, if you're in Rochester there's LTE all over that town now (moreso than my own town) so you should be good to go.

True in the last year or so (been with sprint well over 7 years) I have not had too many dropped calls, more just horrible reception both on rooted phones and non rooted phone but I see a quality increase with the LTE in town. I do a lot more "country" driving I guess where reception isn't so good. Right now when driving around the neighborhoods in Roch I am lucky if I get 2 bars of 3G but when I lock 4G, easily get full bars.

Yes, Rochester (thank god) is starting to get a plethora of LTE coverage but again, it's about 5 blocks away from my house right now and when I do go to the covered areas I am lucky if I get a lock then I drive out of it.

And I try my hardest to map the LTE on sensorly but sometimes when I am connected sensorly doesn't get a ping. Then two blocks later it drops. So I know and understand it's still a few months away from being solid. I am just happy to see progress!!
