I am rocking the LTEvo so I toggled and sat at every tower. I am going to try and hit the Old Six Flags site to see if that is the one tomorrow. My money says it is a tower like that in the middle of nowhere.

I live around here near the old six flags and haven't got lte.

The information from a trusted source. I do not have the Site ID of the live site yet. He said he would send it tonight or tomorrow. I will post it as soon as I know which one it is. I figured you guys wanted to know what I know and when I know it.

As always, much appreciated! Luckily one of my lines works near one NV'd site and I can pass one on the way home from work. Nothing out of them as of today. Hope that inspector makes his way over to BR. I'd buy him/her dinner and a drink to pick their brain and turn on our sites! ;)

And my random thoughts on things..

If between two of us found 5 sites with panels and RRUs up in the BR area with its sparse tower spacing, I can bet you there are a plenty more in New Orleans that are completed. Keep watching for the changes...

According to my source, two sites had 4G LTE accepted from Ericsson yesterday in the NOLA Market. The site at I-10/I-510 and the one at I-10 and Power Blvd in Kenner. I am updating the second site as In Progress now as it was not on the maps yet.

If any of you are over near those sites today, check out and see if you can connect to LTE. And if you do, make sure to run Sensorly. Thanks!

Robert

EDIT: These two sites will remain In Progress until next week's update. I only add In Progress sites between updates.

30.018951,-90.122287 There are two towers here and they both have RRUs, I'm assuming one is AT&T and one is Sprint. I Think Sprint is the one in the tall tower because everything looks brand new and there are no bird nests (saw it from the road) also when i look in google maps it looks nothing compared to now (lot more panels)

I live in Madisonville and work in Covington. Over the past few weeks, my speed went from around 500k to 50k, and as of last week, several towers I connect to along HWY 21 have been running at 1-2 MBPS, with the tower servicing I-12 / Hwy. 21 intersection being the only tower not running well above 1MPBS.

I have a Note 2, and toggle 3G every day. As soon as I see 4G, I'll be driving around with sensorly running. I haven't had time to scope any towers, but even evdo rev. a in madisonville is running at 2.5MBPS, so NV is definitely being rolled out.

Can't wait for LTE. Will post as soon as I see it.

Wow. I am going to be at the kenner location right after work.

This is where my parents live and where we have been staying while our house gets repaired.

I can't believe I didn't pick it up last night. Gonna have to toggle on the way home!

Now that I think about it I was sitting at the red light at this intersection last week and I was looking at the towers near it and thought "that looks like Sprint RRUs...nah probabaly ATT. No, too many panels must be Sprint. On s4gru they said that ATT only put up an few panels and this one has 3 on each side that is alot. I should get some pics for S4gru and ask them. Oh well you don't know what you are looking at or talking about. Besides if that was Sprint someone would have reported it by now since it is in a heavliy trafficed area (same area that WIMAX works btw)." Then the light turned green.

Just checked out the site.. Got really good 3g but no 4g. Did the airplane mode trick and nothing... So maybe it's not on yet....

Sent from my Evo 4G LTE ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Which one did you try? The 10/510 site or the Kenner site?

Not always true. It could be a Synergy site where Sprint took out at Nextel iden panel and added CDMA to it. So it could be a mixed up rack throwing you off.

I've got some pics I'll show you the differences and once you see them you'll be able to easily pick them out. Give me a bit to crop them and throw some chick scratch red arrows and circles on them.

Just passed the Kenner site. No LTE or even Great 3G but there is a guy sitting in an Ericsson Truck. Of course my phone was blowing up from work stuff so I couldn't take pictures and had to get out of there but I will go back and get pictures before I go home for y'all.

Everyone take a seat in the desks....and welcome to Sprint RRU Spotting 101. ;)

I hope these graphics and explanations can help you recognize the Sprint equipment in your area. Just remember, every tower is different due to the thousands and thousands of variables between sites. If you are ever in doubt, take a picture and post it. You have to learn some how... that's what I did. Then you'll take on the addictive hobby of taking pictures like I have of the sites above.

Sweet. Excellent post. Gonna read again and try and absorb some of that again.

A guy walked in my office and said "you looking at cell tower porn?".

Robert, when you find out something around Sylacauga/Central Alabama (between Bham and Montgomery) is being worked on, will you give me a heads up...and I'll take a ride with my P & S Fuji and grab some pics.

Still waiting on word of that new site you mentioned for the Sylacauga area back in September...I haven't found it yet myself and not sure where it is...has it been added to maps yet?

In case it was missed... the teaching post was broken out to its own thread here:
