Network Vision/LTE - South West Florida Market

Saw a few NV towers in Ft. Lauderdale area today. definitely uniquely different from other carriers, especially with the RRU's behind the panels. I did a few speed tests about 150 yards from a tower with a straight line of sight and max was 17/2.5 and then tapered off to about 8/2.5. Definitely cannot wait until SW FL gets rolling.

Yea, hopefully(at least for us) they keep moving south down 275 lol. Either way, Feech... in your opinion(not asking anything but) for us in the Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh and others around this part of SWF getting LTE up and live at all before New Years? I know it isn't official word but IMO I would say with the pictures that have been posted not having much luck for us I would have to say we won't get it this year but asking someone else's opinion on the subject.

I don't see SWF getting it until summer or the end of next year. We are just a small fish in a big pond, so now I'm changing my strategy in finding that elusive LTE signal, now instead of me finding it, I'll let it find me,Then I'll report anything.

I hear ya there. I don't believe it will be that long with the way Sprint is moving south up there but honestly I think we may have a sparkle of it here before the end of the year but nothing to hoot and holler about.

It will not be that long. Sites will start work soon. In the next 30-45 days max.

I was talking to a buddy of mine from Sprint today(Gave Him $20 For All Of The Free SIII Housings I Have Gotten For Free) and he said he was at a bar 2 nights ago here and stumbled upon Ericcson contractors that gave him some fun info and they are in fact working currently but didn't get any info as to what they were doing here. This was in Cape Coral.

Is there any way of finding out what panels belong to who on this tower M160XC104? It's address is 814 S.E. 26th St. Cape Coral, Fl. A crew with unmarked trucks were working on the lower panels earlier today.

Site ID's and addresses are on Sponsor maps. There is a disclaimer underneath Sponsor maps that says that the content on them is not allowed to be discussed outside of Sponsor forums. This is a public forum. In the future, a post like this needs to be in the Sponsor section. Thanks.

I took a spin past MI54XC075 11925 Collier Blvd in Naples today and didn't come up with much. They buried the panels in a flag pole. It's showing its in progress though in the NV Sites Completed thread.20121226_122928.jpg20121226_123108.jpgscreenie.JPG

They have removed the sheath over the panels. A good sign they are doing work. This looks like it will have to be a hot swap. Also, probably no RRU's at this site.

With this site, you may not be able to tell much is going on until it just goes live one day. Keep us posted.

Upon further review, the second picture shows a larger panel. Whereas the first picture shows two panels above/below each other. I think the larger panel is a NV panel. I think you have documented an In Progress stealth site.

so does that still mean it will be an LTE site with no RRU's??

Most likely. There is nowhere to mount RRU's at a stealth flagpole site. About 10% of NV sites will not get RRU's for varying reasons.

Is it Possible that they put the RRU's on the outside of the of the sheath?

Not likely. They made the site a stealth site for a reason. Probably to appease a property owner, community group, CC&R's, a municipal/county planning review or even possibly local ordinance. So they are not likely able to surface mount RRU's. And they may need three or four per sector. Meaning they may have to surface mount 9-12 RRU's to the pole. I don't see that happening.
