Less towers to upgrade? Jacksonville was upgraded first so that newer equipment or systems may not have been available at the time?  Hesse isn't a Jaguar fan? It could be any number of reasons.

 

 

Why would Ocala have been updated to accommodate eCSFB devices while Jacksonville didn't?

Just tried out T-Mobile for laughs (Test Drive, which is a kind of cool attraction.)  Anyways, I've come to the conclusion that Sprint is better here, coverage-wise.  I'd rather have a reliable method

I'm safe. Sprint holding up well. 4.5 million without power. The eye of the storm coming straight for Marion county with 100mph winds. I hope I have a home to go to when this is over.

True lol but to Ocala's defense, the first LTE tower came online mid Jan

At my cousins house where there is a very faint 4G signal but my 1x and 3g is connected to another site that has no NV active, so I'm not connecting to 4G at all. Interesting to find what happens once it is upgraded to NV 3G/4G.

Omg! I have to get a tri-band phone immediately.

Kind of interested in seeing what HTC puts out with it's M8 phone.  I was very tempted to get a One a few times but the battery size was the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger.  The LG G2 is one heck of a device.  Loving this thing to death.

I'm sold on the nexus. I'm going to buy a 32 GB back version in December after I buy my kids Christmas toys.

Might want to go for the white if you hope to get it before Christmas lol.  I ordered a Black 16GB N5 on the 9th and it's set to ship on 12/3.

 

Really unfortunate actually... I am going to be extremely distracted by it during the last week to work on my projects lol.

LG has definitely stepped up their game with the G2 and N5. I have never used a better phone than my G2. It is ridiculous how good it is. Beyond all that, the ability to hold onto a signal is more than I ever hoped for. Today I was working at a school where I'd roam on Metro pcs with my Evo. With the G2, I had an LTE signal in the same area.

I wonder if my in home 4g will get any better on my gs3 if they ever finish that tower on Kernan&Beach Blvd. It's been showing in progress for months now....

 

Unfortunately the distance kinda seems the same like the one I get signal frominn my office, by the Window.

he told me it takes them a few hours to do 911 calls and fire up 1x800 and he told me everything for lte 800 is ready to go and sprint just has to flip the switch

I hope that means soon. I can count the number of 800 mhz pins in the state of Florida on one hand so far...

oh yea he also told me he has live 1x800 on over 30 sites in jacksonville so i would start looking

That's a lot of 1x 800 sites.  Hard to believe they are live without one of us stumbling across at least one of them.  I'm going to get much more aggressive in my search for them when I get my Nexus.

I've been stopping in the sprint store at SS & Baymeadows to check the new Tri-bands, not sure if the csfb is a problem around here or not, all four of the new phones are picking up Lte. This is the only store I can find that actually has them activated and I've been to quite a few. I tried turning the data off and then back on, changed them from global to cdma/lte, going from lte to making a phone call & then immediately online. .....Guess what, they all switched, and pretty quickly. I managed to install Speedtest on the G2 & MEGA, both of which had 2 bars, and they avg'd around 4.5dwn & 1.8up but couldn't try the Nexus which did seem to have the strongest signal. I assume they are all working on 1900mhz, idk. I've been going batshit crazy cuz I've waited since Aug 1st to upgrade waiting for these tri-bands but after this whole mess I'm gunshy about pulling the trigger!

Don't be gushy just do it lol.  This issue with CFSB is probably going to be solved very quickly.  In your particular case, we live in Florida where the issue appears to be extremely limited.  

 

Besides you could always return it in 14 days if it was too much of a problem.

      About 2/3 Done with finding Dish sites in Columbus traditional metro. Signal from some sites travels across the county. On a practical basis that means you might need to search a 4 county area to find a site. It also means more interference and less signal where it should be.  I would think the ideal site coverage would be half or a bit more of surrounding sites unless an edge site (ie boomer site). Comments welcome.

      FTTH JVs are city by city as well, so it's not going to really be sector by sector. It sounds like TMo wants to be able to sell everyone home broadband, but if that requires building additional infrastructure that infra will take the form of FTTH builds rather than mobile densification. Which involves tradeoffs, but the product is better than e.g. what AT&T is doing for me right now, which is offering only Internet Air in an area where they have 100/20 DSL available but not (yet) fiber.

      Hopefully they do not wait until these sectors get so overloaded that they start getting nasty reviews and people abandon them. Getting fiber coverage to the area of a overloaded sector can take a year or more. I also question if this can all be managed.  Lots of sectors all over the country can get congested fairly quick.  Lots of work and money to get fiber installed and there goes the profitability on the venture.
