  1. I use Verizon FiOS and always get faster than I pay for. I'm on their 75/35 package and average over 85 down and 40 up. When I had time Warner I was lucky to get 75% of what they advertised on a good day. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. My Nexus 5 is the same way. It latches on to really weak LTE at home and won't fall back to the Airave unless I put it in 3G only mode. Luckily here CDMA 800 is being deployed, and as long as I connect to it I don't need the Airave. I'll probably be returning mine once the area is officially launched. 3. The last week or so I've been having a problem with WiFi. I'll get home from work and I won't be able to toggle it on or off unless I reboot. It started happening around the same time I went back to using battery guru but I also read about some WiFi lock problems. Is it just a coincidence I installed battery guru at the same time or do others have the same issue? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. Looks like the nexus thread got locked but it might also be relevant here. My Nexus 5 no longer indicates roaming anymore when connected to 1x800. I don't know what changed, but maybe Syracuse is having 800 officially launched. No 800 shows up on any acceptance reports in the entire market so far. Looks like its about time to send back the Airave. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. I don't know why all the hate is being posted on XDA. Sprint probably got notified by Google this would be the build that's going to roll out so they posted the update notice. I would rather be aware of an up coming update rather than be surprised and wonder what its for. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. AT&T (on grand fathered unlimited data plan) does not throttle to hspa speeds currently. They bring you down to ~100 kbps, just as T-Mobile does on their simple choice plans while staying connected to LTE. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. I wouldn't mind overage fee's going away, and adopting throttled speeds when exceeding your data cap. Fear of getting slapped in the face with a huge bill is what has mostly kept both of my lines on unlimited with Framily.
  8. I'm wondering about this too. This is the first phone I've rooted or done anything to. I wasn't planning on taking the OTA, and just side load the update through TWRP. Do I need to do anything special before flashing it? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. Seems like a lot of work, why pay for two post paid plans for a couple of months just to get the credit? Will she even come out on top having to pay for two plans for a couple of months with just the $200 credit?
  10. I did something similar when I added my sister to my account. I activated a new line of service with new number, and then had her number ported in over it. It was a little tedious but Sprint was happy to do it. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  11. Depending what navigation you use, you can cache/download maps for offline use. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. I thought the zombie commercial was good. It was funny, and worked. If it wasn't for it I would still be sitting on Everything Data. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. If you're concerned about messing it up, he has an app in the play store for $5.50, Franco kernel updater. It will let you back up your stock as well as download and auto flash his. Its well worth it IMO. I've been using Franco kernel for about a week now and I'm impressed with the battery savings. Xposed works just fine, and I kept root as well. 14. The store I work at does this as well. I'm not in the store all the time (I do home delivery) but we always try to find a solution instead of just saying no. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  15. Best Buy price matched my Nexus 5 with Google play. While I do work there, I wasn't the first person to ask and have it done. They had price matched other nexus devices with Google play in the past. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. SVLTE isn't as great as it sounds if it has to work how Verizon has it implemented on my G2. Any time I'm on fringe LTE coverage and it loses connection it also drops 1X and rescans. I don't know if its like that on all of their devices but its very annoying trying to make a call having 1X drop randomly. I'll take my single radio path Nexus 5 over that any day. 17. This is nice, might make filling my Framily a lot easier. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  18. After spending a day with my work issued VZW G2, I find myself tapping the screen on my nexus trying to wake it up. I thought knock on would be a gimmick but its making me want to buy my own G2. I also didn't think I would care about the battery life, but it took almost four hours for it to dip down from 100%. 19. I haven't done a lot of business in Sprint retail stores (corporate or third party), but any time I went in there they were more than happy to sell me anything I wanted. Regardless of being a line upgrade, adding a line, buying a device outright or an accessory. I don't know what the policy actually is but I would be discouraged if the rep told me to go buy online. 20. Just because sites are 3G accepted doesn't mean you wont have eCSFB issues. All of Syracuse is 3G or 3G/4G accepted and there are eCSFB issues all over the place here. Also, if you are on wifi and are connected to LTE on a tower that has eCSFB problems, you will have call problems. I don't see you having a problem with that on your HTC One, but I deal with it all the time on my N5 using the .15 base band which ignores eCSFB availability.
  21. Ahh, it looks nice. I look forward to the public release. I usually use wifi analyzer by farproc but I don't see myself using it much with the additional info in SCP.
  22. I saw a screenshot earlier of SCP where WiFi showed the channel number and bandwidth. Is that the beta version? Or is the info only available on some devices. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  23. That does look pretty neat. Didn't Motorola do something like that before? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  24. Though not ideal, you could use a VoIP solution to get voice and data at the same time. I didn't care for the voice quality but it worked. I started to carry my tablet if I think I need data while on the phone. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
