  1. CredoMobile also offers service on Sprint's 3G, WiMax and LTE networks.
  2. Those are just the first LTE signals in the next month or so. It will be several months after the signals start showing up before we see a formal launch from Sprint. It may be earlier than April, but probably not by much.
  3. Didn't intend to imply that you were! I tend to push the airplane button when I'm around LTE, so I'm guilty of it too
  4. It's coming, that's for sure! But probably a couple months out, not nearly enough coverage at this point. But, things have started to move along recently, which is a very good sign!
  5. For those that are impatient, toggling airplane mode brings up LTE faster. However, the phone will connect on it's own once it scans for LTE, which can be any amount of time up to a half hour, but usually faster.
  6. That is exactly the case. Sandy may have caused them to pull some workers from various markets, but that effect should be just about gone.
  7. The Sedalia coverage? That's been there pretty much since the launch in July. That area is part of the Kansas market. Unfortunately, we have not found any working going on in the Missouri market yet.
  8. Welcome! Happy to have you here. You are right, I don't see a Cleveland thread yet. I will move this one over into the Markets section of the forums, and let the discussion continue there! Work will probably begin in your area sometime this winter, probably after the new year. The formal launch probably won't come until Spring. But then, schedules have been changing, so it's hard to say for sure about any of this.
  9. Ah, well the first map is just a map of all Sprint sites. Every Sprint site is getting upgrades, so in that sense, every site in the US will be a NV site. However, since it's not on the complete sites, then I wouldn't consider it to be a NV site yet.
  10. Ahh. So if you buy new off eBay, you pay, but if you buy used off eBay, you don't? Interesting. I guess the wave the fees when you sign up/upgrade.
  11. That's true? I didn't know that. I've never paid an activation fee, even when I've added a couple of phones that I didn't buy through Sprint (GS3, borrowed phone).
  12. I understand that you were referencing Bronx, but others after you weren't. I apologize if you felt I was telling you off. I wonder then, what they consider to be fully deployed, because from what I can see, they're not close, even in Bronx. Are the referring to just the repairs? Because that could make sense. I do not know what sort of information to expect from Sprint Executive Services, as I haven't seen any interactions with them before. You may know if this already, but just in case, we do have more information available to site sponsors, including an up-to-date map of all NV completed towers, and maps of all Sprint tower locations.
  13. Technically, the same contracted company is handling the tower upgrades in all these areas (even Shentel). Who the sub contractors are is anyone guess. As to when they'll be done, or hit one particular area, also anyone guess! But otherwise, yeah that's a good explanation
  14. I can definitely understand your frustration. I lived in Kansas City after the LTE roll-out started, but have since moved to Springfield, MO. Got to experience LTE, then moved back to slow slow 3G. But trust me, it will be worth it! Once the all the NV upgrades are done, your average 3G speed will likely be somewhere in the range of 1-2.4mbps! Which on it's own is fast enough for most things.
  15. 3G speed won't translate to LTE speed at all. LTE will be connected to a whole new system that will have much higher speeds. Those signal levels will be acceptable for LTE. Generally, if you have a signal of -95dBm or better on 1xRTT, you will receive LTE. Keep in mind that the NV equipment will also give a 1-3dBM boost to your signal. With a LTE signal strength of around -90dBm RSSI, you can expect speeds between 3-5Mbps, maybe faster. With a signal of -80dBm RSSI, your speeds will probably be closer to 15Mbps.
  16. WiMax locations are generally not co-located with Sprint towers, since they were deployed by Clear and not Sprint. LTE will have similar strength in building as 3G does, so if you are able to get a reasonable 3G signal (signal, not speed) you will most likely have LTE.
  17. Your 3G speeds are more likely related to the number of users, or the backhaul of the site being overwhelmed. If you have a strong 3G signal, you will have a great LTE signal. Also, once the tower is upgraded, 3G speeds will improve as well.
  18. Little Neck is on the border between the NYC Market and the Long Island Market. Half of Little Neck may get NV with the NYC upgrades, and the other half may have to wait for the Long Island upgrades to start later next year.
  19. What do you mean 3G towers only? Every sprint tower is getting 1900 LTE. (with only about 100 exceptions). We don't know enough about Clear's plans for LTE yet, but it will likely be only in high traffic areas, and not necessarily on every WiMax tower, at least initially.
  20. This will not happen. It's not possible, there are not enough towers completed, and not enough time for enough towers to be completed by that time. Sprint Customer Service does not know when NV will be complete, we have mounds of evidence that they routinely give inaccurate information to callers. NYC will not see a launch in November, and probably not in December either. There will be more and more towers completed in the coming weeks, but nothing close to a launch until probably January, unless they are really able to speed things up in the next two weeks.
  21. How can you be " 2,125 feet away from a NV tower that has not had any work done yet?" If it hasn't had any work done yet, it's not an NV tower....
  22. It will be better than WiMax, it is not even comparable to WiMax. Please read the site rules before posting to much negativity.
  23. There are no apps that accurately describe tower numbers or locations. The best way to post pictures is to find an external host, such as flickr or photobucket and then link back here. I can't tell if that is even a Sprint tower from those images.
  24. No new news just yet. Phoenix is still expected to start by Spring. It may start as early as December, however don't expect it to. Some markets have started early, and some are behind.
