Well it had disappeared for awhile. Now its back and fluctuating between an -80-90dbm 1x 800 signal and a -100ish 1x RTT signal that's coming from a site half the distance away.

Oh alrighty then, thank you!

Here you go. I found it odd because I've never connected to this tower before at my house. The reach on 800 is insane lol.

Don't forget that Missouri market sites don't broadcast their actual location.

I know where this particular one is at because its on the way towards a family members house. So I took the time to inspect the panels, I wanted to know how my service would be lol. Everyone thinks I'm super odd because I like inspecting cell towers. The woes of being a wireless technology enthusiast:P.

Any way you can get to the 1x engineering screen and post a shot of that that includes the 1x PN? Please and thanks!

If and or when it pops back up I'll do my best. It popped up twice for about 10-15 minutes at a time and I have yet to see it again today.

Here's the screen shot you asked for. It barely stayed long enough to grab itxD. If you need anything below the PN line I grabbed shots of those also. Just let me know.

Edit: also what exactly is the PN? I tried searching and couldn't find an answer. Now I feel dumb...

It is sort of(not really) the same as the PCI but for 1x. It can identify a site. If I tell you anymore I'd have to kill you. lol

That's what I figured. Thanks for the explanation (sorta), but I'd prefer to keep my skin intact for a few more years xD. Was it at least something new/useful, or was it redundant information?

I'll try to make a point to actually go into union sometime then. Do you need me to connect to a particular tower? I know where they're both at (opposite sides of town).

Edit: I'm actually in Washington more than anything. LTE flies certain places (25mb down or higher), it even stayed around 15mb last Saturday when there were 500 down at the lake taking prom photos.

If you can post screen shots from all the towers you get LTE in Washington and Union that would be great.

I'm assuming this is for a sponsor spread sheet or something for our market? Also there is one tower off of 100 that's not in city limits that I know is throwing out LTE, so I'll grab that one too. I'm going to have to break into my Dropbox now lol.

Is there any evidence of a second B25 carrier being added in the STL area? I know sprint got the extra PCS spectrum from the U.S. Cellular deal.

Will we be able to see this... My guess was it is additional 1900mhz capacity so I would think that the id's etc would remain the same but the upload and download channels will be wider. Is there a way to tell or am I off base.

I would assume that they'd do it the same way as they did Chicago. As a completely separate 5x5 carrier, due to the spectrum not being continuous.

It would be a separate 5x5 carrier if it existed. It would have different upload and download channels, and a new GCI code.

We don't have any info on this. I don't believe it is occurring. If it is, it's up to someone to actually spot it and report it.

I'll watch my normal travels which is northern Jefferson County and Fenton....did not see any 1x800 yet but nice to see a lot more green and a few oranges on the map. Too bad I had to wipe and lose everything yesterday I lost all my SignalCheck notes it makes it easier to note a site I haven't seen yet.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
