xiutehcuhtli
I notice that many of the sites Denver metro have been switching to EVDO on the weekends. What's up with that? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 This has been going on downtown for quite some time. On any given day a site could be EVDO or eHRPD. My phone bounces between the two all day every day. digiblur
This has been going on downtown for quite some time. On any given day a site could be EVDO or eHRPD. My phone bounces between the two all day every day. I wouldn't pay much attention to it. My phones do it as well even in areas with 3G/4G sites, one phone might say eHRPD and the other says EVDO. latingonzo86
Sprint is not adding any additional sites as part of Network Vision specifically. They are always adding sites, as planned out in the last several years. Sometimes in step with Network Vision, sometimes not. 1 or 2 new sites go online each month across the country. So it's possible they may add a site here or there, but no massive expansion is planned for the foreseeable future. When Sprint finalizes it Band 41 nationwide expansion plans, you may see more Sprint sites popping up filling in holes and expanding to recently built up areas. I was wonfering this myself because I have seen a loy of tower work here in pueblo. Not sure if they are even sprint towers but ive noticed at least 3 or 4 new sites. I even noticed an old enterprise rental sign turned into what looks something like a site. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
maximusmgm
Take a picture of one or two of them when they are done. We might be able to figure out which network they belong to. Colokeb
A man who had 2 sprint towers on his land got angry because of two late $800 payments, so he got a tractor and some cables, then he toppled the two towers. Caused $600,000+ damage. This knocked out the planned 4g upgrade between Fort Collins and Grand Junction Colorado. Speeds have dropped quite a bit.... sometimes near dialup. Also heard there was a plan to speed up some western towns in early October, but that this will slip back to Spring 2014. This new bit deserves some additional input.

If this actually happened it seems to me there would be some report of it on a news site somewhere. I've done a quick search on Google and haven't come up with anything. maximusmgm
This is the second time I've heard of this (the other instance was on another site), but haven't been able to find a news story about it.

This sounds like some sort of an urban legend type thing. First of all, in order to have *two* towers, this guy would have to have a lot of land. If he did knock them down, it would most certainly have made the news. Second, there's no way it would affect the rest of the NV upgrade plans, let alone as far away as Grand Junction. If it was a microwave chain, it could affect a couple of sites, but not more than a couple given the terrain.

I realize it would suck for a lot of Sprint customers, but let's be real honest about this, how awesome would that be? I'm going to start asking all the farmers around me with towers on their land if they are getting late payments from the provider and if, by some act of the immaculate, they would let me knock those towers over with a tractor. This story has given hope to all grown men hoping to appease their inner adolescent.
AcctDeleted_Merlin
So. I am a tech working hands on with the rollout. Because of NDAs and job security issues I will have to keep most of the details on the vague side. Needless to say this equipment is very, very fast. Unfortunately, the rollout is not going as speedy as planned. I can assure you that I have been to every corner of this fine state to personally see the equipment. It is EVERYWHERE. Based on some inside info on rollout expect Grand Junction and CoSprings to go live a lot faster than Denver will. Ohh, and 800LTE is already in the pipe.

Colokeb
The man who told me this owns a MVNO cell phone and repair shop. I know he is very competent. No reason to spin a story. please note: the speeds off the near tower which were 500-800 last July have dropped to 14-35 kbps upload, pings near 800, and uploads usually below 50 and often zero. I personally know the new Samsung 4G equipment was installed in August, but "netvision" is not ready. Sprint service says our "tower issues" for 5 towers nearby will be fixed about November 11th, and speed upgraded.
Craig
Joke's over. Please stop wasting our time. No reason to think you're spinning the story, just no reason to think it is anything BUT a story. This man, he may be very competent in cell phone repair, but that does not mean that he doesn't spread stories to get a rise out of people such as yourself. Seems to have worked in this case. I know plenty of very competent people that love to embellish the truth or even exercise their creativity with total fabrications. Provide some kind of documentation, or please, cease talking about this "incident" that, until proven otherwise, never happened. If you were a sponsor, you could see that yes, there are a large number of sites known to be "in progress" around the Denver area, and CO in general. Most still don't have the "netvision" (Network Vision) turned on yet for various reasons, mostly hypothesized to be related to backhaul delays.
bluefalcon13
All the tall tales aside, northern colorado springs is going through some data woes, just like I had in San Antonio when they were upgrading sites. Intermittant connection issues and such. I remember those were resolved once the site was done with testing and fully online. Getting some dropped calls too, but again, nothing major.
