  1. Wondering if cell tower signals are sent with a radial vector ID like airplane VORs?
  2. The man who told me this owns a MVNO cell phone and repair shop. I know he is very competent. No reason to spin a story. please note: the speeds off the near tower which were 500-800 last July have dropped to 14-35 kbps upload, pings near 800, and uploads usually below 50 and often zero. I personally know the new Samsung 4G equipment was installed in August, but "netvision" is not ready. Sprint service says our "tower issues" for 5 towers nearby will be fixed about November 11th, and speed upgraded.
  3. A man who had 2 sprint towers on his land got angry because of two late $800 payments, so he got a tractor and some cables, then he toppled the two towers. Caused $600,000+ damage. This knocked out the planned 4g upgrade between Fort Collins and Grand Junction Colorado. Speeds have dropped quite a bit.... sometimes near dialup. Also heard there was a plan to speed up some western towns in early October, but that this will slip back to Spring 2014. This new bit deserves some additional input.
  4. For what it is worth: The PayPal advertisement doesn't use the word "Sponsor", and about 5 searches in the various HELP panes did not show it.
  5. I have searched quite a bit but do not find any link on Sponsorship.
  6. Does anyone here have a location for tower 4523? I would like to find it to see if it has the new equipment. It is in western colorado.
  7. Is there a way to disable Text to Landline on Sprint?
  8. Hotchkiss Colorado: Samsung equipment was installed today. Not active yet of course.
  9. I saw the work tower from my home this morning. Our area is called the North Fork Valley. It includes Hotchkiss, Paonia, Crawford, and Cedaredge. All towns are in Delta County, about 40-60 miles SE of Grand Junction. The new Samsung 4G LTE equipment is on the tower awaiting hookup and testing. But 3G upload speeds are already much better.
  10. Now I am doubtful. The 3g speed below the tower was less than 100. No 4g. Apparently ATT is sharing the tower. I do know Sprint killed service there two afternoons. It was snowy and late in the day so I did not attempt to drive up.
  11. Maybe I am jumping the gun, but this rural western tower has some new equipment hanging and a giant reach crane working. Service has been off during two afternoons. I will get a call from a business near there if it lights up or if the work crew moves to a nearby town.
