Looks like Best Buy is offering a $100 gift card with purchase, too. They're also not offering a 2yr contract on their AT&T variant...interesting.

A word of warning to anyone trying to upgrade from Best Buy: They can't update you if you are on framily. You'd have to go to Sprint and change your plan and then upgrade through them, at least at my local Best Buy.

Were you trying to do a 2 year contract? I went in and put in my pre-order without any hassle. But i'm doing Easy Pay.

No Framily upgrades at Best Buy, Sprint took that away. You might have been able to preorder but when you go in you will have to switch to one of the new plans.  Only Sprint Corp stores can touch Framily.  Even if you do easy pay, doesn't make sense, I have Framily can't do anything at my Best Buy.

Sprint branded Preferred Retailers can also process upgrades for Framily.

Will have to stop at my best buy store tomorrow and double check. Don't really see why they wouldn't be able to.

This is basically what I was told. It wouldn't surprise me if it varies from region to region.

Is the blue color a BBY exclusive?  I'm seeing it for all carriers on the Best Buy site.

Wouldn't be surprised. Think everybody has grey backs as the non leather option.

The gift card doesn't come with the phone if you buy it full price does it? The dude at best by told me that's for upgrades only.

Here's the fine print on the gift card:

Offer valid 5/22/15–7/4/15. Pre-order and release date may vary by carrier. Color may vary by carrier. Gift card presented at the time of LG G4 purchase. Offer not combinable with other offers. If you return your cell phone, for any reason, your gift card will be forfeited. Carriers, coverage and products may vary by store. Available in New Jersey. Same price new and upgrade unless otherwise noted. Best Buy may require an existing line of service to receive a new 2-year plan. Carrier requirements may include select plan subscriptions, additional data add-ons, credit approval, usage fees, taxes, surcharges and termination fees. 4G/4G LTE not available in all markets. See a Mobile Phone Specialist for details.

Only condition is really to pre-order and then purchase the phone. No mention of upgrades only.

Got the phone today. So far i like it

I've been so mad at my S5 as of recent, I'm considering getting this. Sure wish it had front facing speakers! Would have made the decision easy.

Thinking about getting this device.  Looks like it'll have the best battery of all of the flagships released this year so far.

What cases are you guys getting?

just the plastic. I'm going to put a case on so no reason for the Kathi leather back.

Well, how's the RF quality on it? Can you compare it next to a few other devices? What's your experience the first couple days? Lengthy response appreciated.

rf quality seems good. Haven't really had time to check things out on this phone. Been busy at work. But i will keep you up to date. I do like the os. I'll take this phone over samsung but that's cause I'm not a samsung fan.

Hopefully this weekend i will have a better update. I have no complaints so far besides there is no swype besides what's on the lg keyboard

Still?  I don't know why, but Sprint opts to disable the trace option and disable the option to turn it on in settings.  For the G2, you had to change a build.prop line from false to true.  Anyone know if there's root yet?

LTE Roaming setting?  Is this just generic, or does it refer to the RRP LTE roaming?  Anybody know? AJ?

It's definitely RRP LTE roaming.  It's not enabled by default yet because there aren't any active agreements.  3G roaming is available on some RRP carriers but that's handled by the PRL.

I'd say Sprint will release an OTA in the future that will enable the LTE roaming by default.  When that time will come, no one knows.

So I tried to get my msl code and they won't let me cause I'm leasing the phone. So if there is anyone out there that is not leasing it and has the code would you please share. Thanks.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
