lou99/maximus1987
Speaking of Band 41, is there a national map showing how much of the spectrum Sprint owns in each of the MTA/BTAs? http://specmap.sequence-omega.net/
EvanA
http://specmap.sequence-omega.net/ Specmap doesn't have the EBS licenses mapped. I'm not even sure if their BRS data is correct.
jamesinclair
RE: More retail I think a lot of people associate a strong retail presence with a strong network presence. You close your shops, people think the brand, and so the network, is in trouble. There’s also the fact that they act as billboards. 20 years ago, people said most banks would close, because you can do 90% of your business with an ATM. Instead, bank retail expanded because the storefronts act as marketing billboards. It is also no coincidence that the Apple brand grew so much when they started opening stores. Having a retail presence is very valuable for people to touch your product, ask questions, and have the peace of mind that if something goes wrong, they can quickly go to the store. I almsot never walk into a Spring store, but more coprorate stores are better.
808Bill
I didn't know the appropriate topic for this, but this thread covers a whole lot of bases. This is an interesting article regarding the sustainability of T-Mobile's strategy. Note the remarks at the end by Deutsche Telekom regarding a merger with Sprint. http://www.ubergizmo.com/2015/01/t-mobiles-uncarrier-strategy-is-hard-to-sustain/?utm_source=mobilerepublic

DT will say anything to get fcc at allow softbank to buy their TMO stake.
ahecht
I'm probably wrong but I thought SoftBank wanted to use Sprint stores to sell more than just phones. This could be a huge PR win. Saving some stores and who knows maybe even staff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk As long as they keep the drawers of electronic components (resistors, diodes, etc) it's fine by me. Radio shack is the last retail source for those items in most areas.

Radio shack is the last retail source for those items in most areas. Doubt it. Sprint is looking at the locations of the stores not the inventory there. If they do buy out the leases those stores will probably be turned into Sprint stores just like most others.

MarshieZ
That ad speaks to a very high degree. I might use that one for my classes. BTW... you know you're a business/marketing major (and Sprint lover) when you get chills from watching an ad...

grapkoski
Seems less like an ad, but a pump up video for the workforce and Sprint lovers like us. Either way, love the energy and message - it is a great way to lead off rebuilding the Sprint brand.
lennyj17
Sprint posted this today https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=lCL-AGAo0oA&app=desktop Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! Finally what we've all been waiting for, the missing piece of the puzzle... I hope we see more of this.... Its on point, no funny-duddy comedic BS, it responds to the negative sigma around the "Sprint" brand, and it takes ownership for the past mistakes (in a way).. This is marketing that matches the level of the other 3 players. They need to saturate the airwaves with this and the "Cut Your Bill" Ads, use their NBA sponsorship platform to the fullest extent. LOVE IT! More of this Sprint!
S4GRU
I think they need to get B26 deployed throughout their network more before they air stuff like this. And then you will say they need B41 at every site before they produce stuff like this. Or multiple B25 carriers. And then Carrier Aggregation. And then, whatever is next. The video states what it is...where the next work is now and where it is headed. Extremely relevant to now. It's not great everywhere. But it is usable in most places and great in some. And getting better and better. It's a good video.

lou99/maximus1987
Robert beat me to the punch, but moving goalposts seems to be a recurring theme today.Usable data should be goal posts. In my area, that requires 2,5ghz as 5x5 lte is wilting. Some areas may be fine with 5fdd. Usable data.
S4GRU
Usable data should be goal posts. In my area, that requires 2,5ghz as 5x5 lte is wilting. Some areas may be fine with 5fdd. Usable data. There is usable data in most places of the Sprint network. And it's getting better and better. If it's not good enough for you where you are, then don't be a Sprint customer. I'm an AT&T customer and they don't offer a great experience everywhere I go. But I did a cost/benefit analysis and chose AT&T over Verizon. Sprint will be be great for millions of people, even if not for you. And it is getting better for millions more every quarter.
