Unlikely. Sprint is activating every tower as soon as it's ready. Once everything is hooked up, the each tower will be activated. Unless all the towers are on the same fiber ring that isn't running yet, I doubt they will all fire up at once.

 

what's the holdup for flippin the switch on the completed towers in Omaha and Lincoln, NE?

That I do not know. Towers aren't accepted as 4G completed without backhaul, so I can only guess that perhaps there is an issued with the 4G Core for the market. I would really like to see those towers light up as I have family in Lincoln and will likely be visiting soon!

Well everything is complete on the towers. They may be in some ring or something idk. The cable co is the new backhaul. And know its it place because I talked to one who was running it. Guess they have to complete thebsites and then turn a few areas on at a time and fine tune them? Thats the last idea. Otherwise id be seeing LTE on some sites

So many pieces and your local backhaul guy won't know them all. Especially if things are ready at the core. How do you know the sites are complete? It may look done from your perspective but it might be missing a few things which the integration crew is going to bring. It will all come... I still wait on sites in my launched market to get any work at all done to them. At least yours have RRUs flying.

Some of the people working on it all said the sites were complete. And Im thinking we have a fiber ring in east texas that will connect to a bigger finer run that conmects into the"core". And all of the markets that are announced are going to be hooked up to it and be running. The major east texas towns have seen some lte blip up. So we are just playing the waiting game. We should have it within the next week according to some people pretty high up on the chain

Updated the map today. Here's some of the notable updates.

 

Moved up to Pre-Launch status:

I think I found an iDEN only site having RRUs installed today. The antennas are already on the tower. I don't remember seeing this tower on any map for conversion/NV. The tower is near Camp Point, IL.

 

Think you might be able to get a picture and a better location? Would be interested to know if this is one of the few iDen conversions.

I will if I make it over that way. I live about 50 miles from that tower so I'm not sure how soon it will be. Usually if I have to go that far I go to Springfield. There is an iDEN tower on that route too in Ashland. Not sure but I think that is a tower to be converted. I would hope so as signal in that area on CDMA has always been bad. I did notice antennas with RRUs near the top. At least I think that is an iDEN tower. ATT uses a similar omni antenna to iDEN in this area. Different market but the Harrison, AR tower is going to be a convert to CDMA. I find that interesting as it will be an island of coverage.

50 miles, yikes. Don't go to far out of your way for us!

 

Harrison, AR. There's already a Sprint tower/DAS or something down there. May have something to do with that.

Guess you can add citrus heights, CA to teh list. One CH LTE site accepted and they're getting plenty of bleedover signal from roseville sites along with their CH one. Shows on sensorly. 

 

I'm trying to stick to the major metro city in the area. Which is larger? Roseville or CH? I'll just leave one since they're so close. I was tempted to just put Sacramento, but it just wasn't close enough.

They're actually both different incorporated cities so they have to be marked different from each other. That side of town is all county unincorporated areas with a few incorporated cities here and there. Incorporated city of sacramento is across the river around arden-arcade. As noted in this county map...

The point was, I can't mark every single city. I usually just pick the largest one in the area if Sprint hasn't listen any yet.

Ditch it for Google fusion maps. So much easier and faster. Shoot me a PM or Google talk if you are interested.

      Kind of amazing that T-Mobile is still holding onto that speed title despite Verizon all but killing off lowband 5G on their network. While Verizon is mostly being evaluated on mmWave and C-band performance, T-Mobile and AT&T's average 5G speeds include their massive lowband 5G networks that are significantly slower.

      Yup. Very true. We were originally on an Everything Data 1500 Plan, which got Unlimited Minutes thanks to Marcelo's "Loyalty Benefits" offer. We then switched to Unlimited Freedom (with the Free HD add-on that Sprint originally wanted $20/month per line for.... remember that?) because the pricing was better with "iPhone for Life", vs. the "Loyalty Credit" for staying on a Legacy Plan. After that, I ran the numbers and switched us over to Sprint MAX, especially for the international travel benefits. There's absolutely no reason for us to switch to Go5G Plus or Go5G Next if we're going to do BYOD by purchasing from Apple/Samsung/Google directly as we've been doing. These new plans aren't priced for current customers to switch to. They're priced for new customers, where they throw in a free line, etc. It's gone from "Uncarrier" to "Carrier". What a shame.

      Strange business model that they keep around all these pricing plans. 1000s of plans per carrier is reportedly not uncommon.  Training customer support must be a nightmare. Even MVNOs have legacy plans. A downside of their contract mentality I guess. Best to change contracts during a recession. But then all carriers try to squeeze out legacy plan benefits as they grow old.

      Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....
