Shentel / Sprint LTE - (was ntelos - West & N&W Virginia)

I was able to see two Mnc's when I was on Rt.29  around Barracks Road last night when I searched on my T-Mobile iPhone 6. One was nTelos Communications and the other one was Sprint. I normally have only seen the nTelos Communications one so last night was something new.

One of my friends who knows more about this is when this usually happens usually LTE will be following some time soon after. But Im not holding my breath till I see it for my self.

I know something is up because when I was in town yesterday between 9am and 3pm i was having all sorts of data issues like they where either working on towers or testing stuff on them. Had some data issues while in town last night as well but not as bad. Then this morning my connection to the towers were pinging all over the place to one tower to another and going in and out of 1x and 3g. So lets hope they are working on the towers.

Went to The sprint repair center on electric road, sent by customer service. The reset network settings, restored phone to factory, ran some apple specific diagnostic tool, could not figure out the issue. They ordered a replacement. Asked about the nTelos thing and was told that it is unlikely a network issue as it would affect other manufacturers. Tech found accounts of folks having a similar issue on VZW. Might be an apple issue. The y will only care about it if we complain.

Go to a sprint store ask them if they know when there gonna launch 4g. the sprint store in Roanoke Va beside shakers

knows I asked the guy and he said they knew but couldnt  reveal it.

Members here often know more than front line employees when it comes to network deployment and updates. 99% chance that the store employees do not actually know, they're just feeding you a line to keep you coming back.

I imagine it won't be clear to anyone until money exchanges hands. Right now we are at the mercy of the nTelos master plan which they keep pretty tight. They will keep building enough to comply with current contractual obligations until the merger actually happens, at which point shentel will start with their own plan after they asses the current state of the network they are buying which, again, won't be clear until shentel has boots on the ground. God only knows what nTelos might be hiding. Hopefully it isn't a river of shit.

No to be honest the sprint exeutive has paid my bill for the last 6 months. We were supposed  to get 4g lte in May 2015 the iphones wouldnt work on the towers for some reason. And when shentel bought ntelos which  I think it goes through Nov 15 of this year shentel. Shentel wanted there network when they turn it on.

I remember when I was on nTelos their entry level reps and techs has no idea when LTE would be added. It always ended with broken promises. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "It's Coming soon" (this was in Jan. Of 2014)

Hopefully when Shentel takes over everything will be solid at that point.

The merger not suppose to close till early next year according to both the nTelos and Shentel websites.
