LG G2 Users Thread!

Holding Power & Volume down simultaneously while the device is ON will take a photo screen shot.......

With the device powered down that's an entirely different task. Master Factory Reset!

I really wish they'd done something else other than Power and Volume Down, they're so hard to hit reliably.

Use Quick memo. Slide up and to the right from the home button.

That doesn't always work for me though. Some apps I use and occasionally take screenshots of don't display the notification bar and touch buttons, they instead use the full screen mode. Just makes it more difficult for my use scenario, but I realize I'm in the minority.

I didn't think about Kit Kat changing that. Drats

Hi. First time posting. My LG G2 got the Kitkat upgrade and I believe ever since it basically refuses to go to Wifi. If I restart the phone it will connect but once it goes inactive for some length of time wifi will never come back. If I go into settings the wifi is basically grayed out. It looks like it is trying to turn on but just sits like that. Any ideas? This was not an issue before the upgrade and I don't think I've added any programs in the meantime.

Have you checked to see if the "Connections Optimizer" has been checked?

It is checked. Should it be? So right now if I get wifi after a reboot - if I leave that wifi and get 4G or whatever and then return to the wifi (as in my home) it will not connect period. Makes no sense that Sprint wouldn't want me on my high speed internet. Thanks...

I don't have my connections optimizer checked.. I think it picks and chooses for you.. Not sure though.. I don't have any problems with my Wi-Fi staying connected

I'd uncheck it and see if it fixes your problem.  I don't like Sprint connection optimizer because it connects me to a houses WiFi as I drive by (or a Mc Donalds).  For me, it causes more issues than fixes imo.

I second this notion....Connections Optimizer is more of a PITA than a help....

I've had my G2 over a week now. Still haven't told my wife about the IR blaster remote. She's starting to seriously consider the possibility of poltergeists in the house.

Did the same thing to the girlfriends mom. She got mad, real mad. But it was funny.

The Connections Optimizer serves it's purpose, as long as you understand what it does.

That being said, if you know what you're doing and are managing WiFi on/off on your own when you know it is available, it is useless for you. The average person however, doesn't do that and in turn causes either more strain on the mobile network than there needs to be (by staying on 3G/4G when WiFi is available) or using more battery by having WiFi turned on and scanning for available networks when there isn't one.

I've done some funny things with my gs4 when I first got it a year ago. Not many (if any) phones had an RF blaster when that was released, so you could really f*** with people. I turned off several large TVs in a Vegas casino, and then turned off a massive screen/projector in a sports bar during a pivotal moment during the nba finals. So fun.

Does anyone know if the reason you get the charging differences (slow versus fast) is because some cables are USB 2.0 and some are USB 3.0?I need to buy a couple new cables, and I'm finding that when I charge my galaxy tab 3 in the van, it just charges for a few seconds and cuts off...then comes on and charges....loop. I have a dual plug and I can't charge my G2 and tab at same time...and the prob is the cable. I can use the cable I got with my G2 on the tab 3 and it charges fine, but I don't seem to find any more of my cables that will do that.

Has anyone tried the Google camera app from the play store?

Sent from my bareback LG G2

Hadn't known about this, but just downloaded the app. Photosphere looks interesting, but I don't how often I'd use it. I"m not really much of a special-effects guy; just a basic camera with the occasional macro shot works for me.

Not sure if this was discussed yet, but if you disable LTE but leave B26/B41 enabled, will it still search for and connect to those bands? (ie. is it useful for finding those other bands around?) This is disabling the LTE band in ##DATA#.

Thanks!
