Sprint LTE Coverage Maps via Sensorly

Recommended Posts

Did we ever figure out what phones cause the gray, and will there ever be a way to get rid of it or toggle it?  I noticed my S4 put a few gray dots (only 1 in any place) on the 2G/3G map in locations I toggled airplane mode to force it to pick up LTE again.

Anyone else being blocked from sensorly.com with a "Forbidden" error?  I cannot get in from a browser, although I can see coverage maps on my GS3 using the Sensorly app.

I had the same problem but if you google sensorly and click on the first link, it will bring you to the site and work fine.

I know this has been brought up before and is probably one of those thorns in your side, but can we not process Sprint Galaxy Nexus LTE points since it's chipset is just so messed up and reports dark purple where there should only be very very light, almost no coverage color of purple?  I'm so glad that the phone is slowly going away due to its age.

Hey digi, you can buy me a GS3 and help get another GNEX off the airwaves.....lol

I did a car dock passive scan this afternoon. Still has yet to update. Hmmm.

There's no backlog right now so either you're hitting the CDN 24h cache thing (web only) or there's something wrong !

Ok today seems fine. So something must've been wrong with my device yesterday. Thanks again for letting us know! Can't wait to have Samsung multiview in the next release.

Multiview is awesome for LTE serving cell hunting.

Hi digi,

I've done most of the mapping within about 10 miles of my house (ZIP 91977), and my GNex maps the full LTE color spectrum from dark purple to very light purple. The color matches the coverage I get very well. I'm running the GA02 radios with CM10.1 and Fancy Kernel, if it makes a difference.

If it's helpful, I can send you whatever numbers you need from Sensorly or Signal Check Pro.

Have a great evening!

John

One of the reasons why I finally rooted and flashed your ROM... Absolutely love this feature!

The thing is the Gnex falls on its face then starts drawing dark purple where it should be light purple.

Hmm, I don't have that experience. The terrain around my part of San Diego is very hilly, and Sensorly's colors track pretty close with Signal Check's numbers, the tower locations and the terrain. I wonder if it's a matter of different hardware versions or radio software?

Have a great day,

John

Take a look at our "Details" screen, you'll get the signal strength coming from the phone there too

Is it still the case now ?

Consider yourself lucky...  other markets still have GNex scars on the map.

Can you send us an email to contact@sen...ly.com and we'll work on this. We want to start a new beta cycle at the end of the month and now is the time to work on this !

FYI, I just sent you another email with an update on the Photon Q issue.  Thanks in advance!

In my noob terms, does the coverage map look slim and only on major roads because the towers are not on full blast yet?? I find it very odd the coverage looks like thin pencil lines rather than a spread out blanket look!!

Sensorly is crowd sourced data. It is real world signal measurements from users of the Sensorly app. Those thin pencil lines are the routes of Sensorly users in that area.
