Comments related to the NV Running List Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey people, how about we move non-NV deployment talk to a new thread and quit hijacking Robert's

Denny, as long as they are talking about how wonderful S4GRU is, I don't mind so much. :hah:

All I want to hear about is where Richmond, VA falls onto the schedule? It looks like we're being surrounded with D.C. primed and Charlotte waiting in the wings.

No word on San Diego?

No Wimax, and typical "3G" speeds in 170kbps range. I gave up 3Mbps on T-Mobile for this a year ago! Bad decision.

I have the word on San Diego. But I am announcing them in order. Stay tuned.

any word on MPLS ST. Paul markets. And how do you find out what markets are, is there a map that shows the break up of the markets.

We aren't ready to announce the Minnesota market yet. We are scrambling on making market maps for all 97 markets. However, we haven't done Minnesota yet. Stay tuned. We will hopefully have more maps in the next week!

Sprint is giving the Twin Cities the cold shoulder.

I know I'm taking a long shot here, but it would be nice to know if Phoenix or Tucson would be included in this years deployment.

I live in Yuma AZ and usually get upgraded once Tucson gets their upgrades.

I'm Thinking (read: hoping) Phoenix will start this year, however if it is, pry not starting till late in the year. (fingers crossed!) We should find out here in the next week or so, I would imagine. Heres looking forward to more S4GRU.com updates!

I should be able to make some more. I am thinking of changing the highlight color though as the yellow is hard to look at sometimes. I did it for the sprint color but I might go with a blue or red to make it easier to see. Let me know your thoughts.

I liked the idea of Sprint yellow. However, yellow does make it difficult to view. I'm not big on red or blue though given the associations with Verizon and ATT. I wouldn't use magenta either. ;)

Any other color should look good. Maybe a green or orange?

So Robert what you are saying is that here in Chicago were getting some LTE love this October? Didn't know you have this inside info, just would like to say thank you for keeping me updated. If it weren't for you I would have jumped ship already.

If everything stays on schedule, the entire Chicago market should be done in early October. I am planning a Chicago market follow up article in the next week. Just waiting on a couple of return calls.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and coule potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
