It's official. My wife's Isuzu is a total loss. Sending me a check for more than I paid for it when I bought it. Not too shabby.

At least all of you are ok, that's what matters most.

I made it to Bismarck. But I hit a deer at 70 MPH about 30 miles out of town. My Isuzu Ascender is not happy. Very fortunate it did not come through the windshield. Having a late dinner now at a Hawaiian/Japanese fusion joint. Not finding Sprint LTE so far.

Sorry to hear that Robert.  My brother in law had a similar incident with a deer and his Tahoe in Alabama a few months ago.  7K worth of damage.

Ok. It's official. There is no Sprint LTE in Central and Western North Dakota. I investigated all the Sensorly purple hits. They line up on Verizon sites.

I investigated all the sites at the center of the dark purple. All had VZW panels and equipment sheds. Some had AT&T equipment. But none had Sprint equipment. Panels nor base stations. And sweeps of frequencies using my spectrum analyzer produced nothing on Sprint channels. All LTE channels observed with the spectrum analyzer were allocated to Verizon or AT&T.

The trip was a big bust. Stopped for lunch in Dickinson for BBQ. Hopefully at least this place is good. Smells great.

That's a bummer. Was hoping North Dakota was going to get a little more love from Sprint.

Thanks Robert for checking it out, sorry you had to sacrifice your wife's car in the process. Just glad everyone is ok (well, except for the deer)!

Ouch! Just program your GPS for "Gods Country", you'll find it.

 Fixed that for you.   ;)

No, you guys are all wrong.

You will find The Edge, Bono, some Adam Clayton, and just a little bit of Larry Mullen.

Open your map and look for the state with oil wells all over it.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Dakota_oil_boom

Or follow the oil trains (the ones with 100+ black tanker cars) back to where they come from.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tank_car

Its 1 AM and I'm getting 12 Mbps. I don't remember getting decent LTE in Moorhead since just now. Could be a fluke, but it is Friday night... (Saturday morning.) I haven't exactly been paying attention for a couple weeks, but if I'm getting half this tomorrow, that would be really cool.

B26 is active through most of Fargo Moorhead now, results are fantastic. Also, a tower which was built and left empty last spring appears to have Sprint equipment on it now. West Fargo, just leaving town north of the interstate.

So today I was headed back from Park Rapids to Fergus Falls, and I noticed a strong 3G signal in an area that used to be extremely weak near the intersection of MN 210 and MN 29. The area has always been a bit of a coverage hole, if you look at the NV market map and the Sprint coverage map, I'm sure you can see why. There is a large cell tower at the intersection, but clearly Sprint has not been located there in the past, otherwise the surrounding coverage would be much better. Today however, I was receiving an EXTREMELY strong 3G signal in that area, though it did still drop off as I headed west through Henning (which is the location where I was hoping Sprint would add a site to improve coverage from there through that intersection). We maybe have a site add?!?!

Ok Robert, so this August is the big Sturgis rally. You think anything has changed for the good?

I wish they would bring a COW up there. I know the other carriers do. Any ways any new info would be great. Thanks.

Nothing so far. I was just in Sturgis yesterday. I do recommend the Sturgis Coffee Company, though. Best coffee in the Dakotas. And their white chocolate raspberry scones are to die for!

Tmo did not bring up a COW, either, last year. Just VZW and AT&T.
