OMG yes.. I had to uninstall it because it was crashing the whole phone!

If it wouldn't be any trouble, could you help me troubleshoot the problem so I can get it fixed?  Did this just happen on the very last update?

Of the phone or the app? It has been acting weird but this last update has made it unusable.

It was very slow to respond and would take a long time to even open. Then when it did i would try to press the reset button and it would act like i did nothing. So i would get frustrated and try to close it and it would just hang.

My sister has been having trouble finding the panorama camera setting after the last update to kit kat on her HTC One M7. Was the panaorama capability removed, or just moved to a different setting? She lives in CA and I'm in NY so I can't look through her phone to figure it out, any help would be appreciated.

tap the 3 dots in the upper left of the camera, then tap the first option (above the ISO settings, it probably says "Auto"), and that's how you change the camera modes now.  Panorama is the one below HDR, looks like a rectangle with the left 1/3 filled in.

I'm surprised no one in here has mentioned the issue with the Smith - expired! message that appears on power-up. My wife and sister have One's and both display it on power up. If you don't disable it, then incoming calls/texts do not go through. Sprint still seems clueless on a fix, and it's been happening since the end of July, per their website.

This happens to my sisters HTC one. I've been trying to get her to perform a factory reset to see if it fixes it.

Factory reset won't fix the issue. htc knows about the app affecting Sprint customers and are "currently working on a software update to take care of that issue".

Does HTC have the RUU available for this phone? I'm wondering if that might help it, I keep seeing references to having the OS software reloaded.

I think we are just going to have to wait till the update is pushed. No ETA given.

HTC and Sprint just pushed out the update for the M7. Check software update on your phone.

No update listed on Sprint?

http://support.sprint.com/support/article/Find_and_update_the_software_version_on_your_HTC_One/WServiceAdvisory_542_GKB48984?INTNAV=SU:DP:eek:V:UG:HtcOne:FindAndUpdateTheSoftwareVersionOnYourHtcOne

Anyone needing RUU I'd head to XDA. Never had this "smith" issue though...maybe you all are stuck in the Matrix.

I'm sure this may be old news to some of you, but it looks like us M7 owners will get Lollipop:

I was about to upgrade to the LG G3 when I found this.  May sit tight for a while until February and see how the update goes.

After a year and a half, my M7 was getting a little laggy and battery performance was slipping. I was looking at possible replacements, and read again about rejuvenation from a factory reset, so I tried that for the first time. A good opportunity to reevaluate what apps were really needed and those I could do without. Not being familiar with restoration from a backup, it took some time to recreate things. The payoff: much snappier and battery is WAY better. This will help me feel OK until more definitive info on the M9 comes out. :-D

Woot!

I'm digging 5.0.2 on my Nexus 7 (2013).

might have me hang on to the M7 for a little while longer (prob til the bugs worked out of a new M9)

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
