I think Mayaguez must be not to far. It was announced and generally this, San Juan, and Ponce get the upgrades first.

I said it before and ill say it again, I thibk Puerto Rico is going to be the first market to be 100% done. If its not the first it will be the second one. I think Chicago might get done first. Still guys, we are really lucky PR is moving this fast.

I think all that coverage is just 1 tower, and now most of Ponce has LTE.

LTE is definitely coming soon, after having only 1X service on Monday and Tuesday, today I found most of the towers on my drive to class are broadcasting eHRPD (Bayamon to Hato Rey)

Robert, NV upgrades should also benefit voice reception reliability right? The two antennas near my apartment, around Paseos in Guaynabo/Cupey, have had absolutely abismal voice reliability issues. Every call I make or receive at my place last roughly 30 - 45 seconds before it either starts cutting out or the caller on the other end hears me cutting up before; ultimately, the call gets dropped.

Just keep in mind that the Virgin Islands is part of the Puerto Rico market, with than being said I don't think the VI will get completed any time soon but hey I can always hope and pray.

No, that before the sites near home got updated, I couldn't make a call longer than one minute.. It just get dropped..

Thats good to know then because in Mayagüez there are a couple of places that have that problem..... Its great to know it will get fixed when Mayagüez's sites are done!!!!

It just seems like since it's only ~14 sites total, that when they do decide to do the USVI, they should be able to roll in and get it knocked out in no time flat.

Thats true, shouldn't take them long at all but my only concern is getting sufficient backhaul to the different sites. Trust me when I say that when it comes to technology the VI are in the stone age compared to PR.

I can certainly believe that. A while ago my family was thinking about the USVI (probably STT or STJ) for a vacation villa. Naturally, what I was concerned with was internet connectivity. So I researched what is offered there and I was appalled at how expensive it was and even worse, how slow it was for how much it cost. As you note, getting sufficient backhaul there will likely be the biggest challenge. Hopefully, they already have some kind of plan in place. According to their map, AT&T claims to have "4G" HSPA+ there. I wonder what they're doing for backhaul.

I found LTE on Hormigueros yesterday but the 4G connection was only for a few seconds, today I decided to go back and only manage to connect a few seconds and then it kick me out of LTE, map it 2 points on sensorly.

I dont know if the site its been blocked or the LTE signal is from another tower far away.

I was again at my parents house in YABUCOA today and got strong signal of LTE in some spots without signal a week ago. Also, better and seamlessly switching between eHRPD 3G and LTE. Is good to know Sprint is stepping at the plate to do a homerun in record time. Again, my galaxy Note is another beast with LTE.
